On Saturday 28th November 2015 ARRIVA Kent Thameside's route 5 which operates between Southend Travel Centre and Basildon Bus Station was converted to the MAX brand using five refurbished vehicles displaced from the Fastrack network in Kent by new StreetLites. However despite this upgrade low patronage has forced ARRIVA to withdrawn from operating the route the last day being Saturday 3rd September 2016.
MAX liveried and branded for route 5, ARRIVA Kant Thameside 3823 GN07 AVL is seen despite what the blind is showing departing from Basildon Bus Station whilst working route 5. Tuesday 9th August 2016.
Once route 5 is withdrawn ARRIVA will no longer serve Pitsea and Basildon bringing to the end an era which dates back to its predecessor Southend Transport.
