Le Château d'Avignon est situé dans la Camargue, non loin des Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. À côté du château, se trouve un ensemble de bâtiments qui hébergeaient les dispositifs d'approvisionnement, et de chauffage de l'eau desservant le château ou le parc, et les terrains agricoles alentours. Ici, la pompe Dumont qui actionnait une roue à aubes.
Château d'Avignon is located in the Camargue, not far from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Next to the château is a group of buildings that housed the water supply and heating systems that served the château, the park and the surrounding farmland. Here, the Dumont pump, which drove a waterwheel.
This is not a double exposure or a composite but rather a shot of a window with a bright reflection. I thought this made a pretty interesting image and a good one to post for Sliders Sunday. HSS!

Het trambedrijf van Avignon is het jongste Franse trambedrijf. Op 19 oktober 2019 werd de 5,2 kilometer lange tramlijn in gebruik genomen. Het beginpunt aan de centrumzijde van de lijn ligt naast de stadsmuur die het historische centrum van de Provençaalse pausenstad omsluit. Avignon is sinds vele eeuwen de zetel van een aartsbisschop en diende ooit als ballingschapsoord voor de paus. Het centrum van de stad staat op de lijst met werelderfgoed van de UNESCO.
Met de korte tramlijn heeft Avignon er een nieuwe attractie bij. De tramlijn volgt het zuidelijke deel van de stadsomwalling om vervolgens af te buigen voor de verdere rit naar saint Chamand. Op de lijn doen tien korte Citadis-trams van Alstom dienst. Vier aanvullende exemplaren zijn besteld voor levering in 2023. In Frankrijk rijden zulke 24 meter lange trams alleen in Avignon en bij het minitrambedrijfje van Aubagne.

Avignon é uma cidade do sul de França que durante vários anos foi a residência dos Papas da Igreja Católica. Está situada na margem esquerda do rio Ródano, no departamento de Vaucluse.
Era chamada de Avênio ou Avênio Cavaro durante o perÃodo romano. Desde 1995 o Centro Histórico de Avinhão, incluindo o Palais des Papes, um das maiores e mais importantes construções da arquitetura gótica na Europa, faz parte da lista de Patrimônios Mundiais da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (UNESCO).
