That day I was aiming to capture Glastonbury Tor in background but fog was too dense . I took a photo of trees instead and very happy with this shot. If you look carefully you can see photographer on the left -bottom corner.

Having had time to reflect on the weekends adventure I think this must have been one of the most perfect mornings for photography that I have had. We arrived at 4am to get some astro shots and as the morning progressed the conditions just got better and better. Mornings like this are good for the soul.

My favourite local dawn and sunrise location, the lake at Petersfield Heath. The Heath area, to the East of the market town of Petersfield in Hampshire, is an ancient 3000 year old Bronze Age burial site, with the type of burial patterns seen at Stonehenge and Avebury, but without evidence of the attendant henge structures.
Sunrise at one of my favourite locations, the lake at Petersfield Heath. The area dates back 3000 years to the Bronze Age, and on a still morning with the mist rising from the lake it takes on a mystical atmosphere.

Glorious sunrise over Avalon. I`t s actually Somerset and Glastonbury Tor in background but Avalon always sounds better to me. I hope you like it. Apologies to all that follow me for not being active lately, I`m working long hours and weekends as well.
Just got back from a relaxing and carefree vacation. I miss it already.
I do hope everyone had a good time while I was gone though! Now, I have a lot of catching up to do! I can't wait to see everyone's recent work! And as for my own photos, I have an overwhelming amount of beach shots, but I won't bore you with those. I'll try to put up only a couple, but we'll see. :)

We certainly had the ‘Mists of Avalon’ this morning in York!
I’m not sure if the Nova 3 trains will bring about an Arthurian island where everything grows abundantly and without effort, but I’m sure they will bring about their own legend!
They are certainly the ‘Bossa Nova’ of new trains, free-flowing with effortless talent!
The train seen here is a test run with the Driving Trailer leading and 68024 ‘Centaur’ pushing at the rear. There’s one thing for sure, the headlights don’t need any further testing!
The 05:34 Scarborough to Manchester International Depot arrives at a freezing fog bound York at 06:35 on Thursday 28th February 2019.

The Real Avalon - somewhere on the coast of Australia.
Avalon is a legendary island featured in the Arthurian legend. It first appears as the place where King Arthur's sword Excalibur was forged and later where Arthur was taken to recover from his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. Avalon was associated from an early date with mystical practices and people.
In medieval times suggestions for the location of Avalon ranged far beyond Glastonbury. They included on the other side of the Earth at the antipodes, Sicily and other unnamed locations in the Mediterranean. In more recent times, just like in the quest for Arthur's mythical capital Camelot, a large number of locations have been put forward as being the real "Avalon". [Paraphrased from Wikipedia]

Finally was able to finish up this build. It marks a return of the wandering trader and the accompanying aesthetic from some time ago. The main inspiration was the "Edena" cycle by Jean Giraud "Moebius", other inspirations include: Real world oriental architecture, Star Wars' Tatooine, classic Lego Town, and other bits and pieces that I enjoy.
Play features include: Removable domes on both towers, removable second story on the tall tower, a back wall that can swing open, and a full interior.

This is why I get out of bed at 4am.
Todays sunrise at Avalon Beach was spectacular. Watching this intense colour unfold before my eyes was truly magical.
You only get to see skies like this every so often, but when you do it’s exciting and extremely rewarding. It makes you realise that all your effort is worth it.
It’s magnificent to see nature in all its glory.

The Casino was designed by the architects Walter Webber and Sumner A. Spaulding and was completed in 1929. It took fourteen months to build, at a cost of $2 million (paid for by William Wrigley).
Now you might wonder what how such a large casino manages to stay afloat in a town of 3000 people (plus fluctuating numbers of tourists). I, in fact, had envisioned before we went that it would a rather elegant place similar to the casino in Monte Carlo that I have only seen in Bond movies. But in fact this is not a casino. Rather, as all the guide books and rather weary signs dotted around around the front of the Casino say this is a Casino, from the Italian word meaning "place of entertainment" or "social gathering place."
In fact, the Casino was built to house a beautiful art deco theater and ballroom. I guess I have to approve (since I don't enjoy gambling) but it did feel like a bit of a bait and switch.
