Il faisait froid ce matin-là et le givre recouvrait tout.
Une belle opportunité pour sortir l'objectif macro et tenter quelques essais face au soleil levant. Avec une balance des blancs en automatique, le ciel froid prit cette couleur orange, plutôt esthétique.
It was cold that morning and the frost covered everything.
A great opportunity to get out the macro lens and try some tests against the rising sun. With automatic white balance, the cold sky took on this orange, a rather aesthetic color.
Het gehucht Helle is een beschermd dorpsgezicht met een groep vakwerkhuizen, die in oude luister zijn hersteld.
De vakwerkhuizen staan op een houten voetraam, dat dicht boven de grond op een laagje natuursteen rust.
Als bouwstoffen voor deze huizen werden hout, klei en stro gebruikt. De vakken tussen het raamwerk bestaan uit een vlechtwerk van stevige takken en buigzame twijgen, aan weerskanten bepleisterd met een mengsel van kleverige klei en kort gehakt stro, dat na droging nog een gladdere afwerklaag kreeg en vervolgens wit werd gekalkt.

The inter-terminal shuttle, the Charles de Gaulle Véhicule Automatique Léger (or CDVAL) at Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris (also known as Roissy airport), France.
The airport was built in the late 1960's and early 1970's, originally under the name of "Aéroport de Paris Nord". The second terminal opened in 1982, and a third has since been added.
The shuttle was built in the early 2000's, and connects the first two airport terminals with the Réseau Express Régional (RER, the Parisienne "underground" service) and the Train à Grande Vitesse (TGV, the French national/international railway network).
Shot at dawn at the T2 section of the line.
Taken with my Nikon D40, fitted with a Nikkor AFS DX 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.

Cette photo est l'une de mes favorites. Quand j'ai découvert le bleu des champs de lin lors de ma première année en Normandie, ces fleurs m'ont tout de suite fascinée.
Les fleurs s'ouvent quelques heures au soleil de la fin de matinée puis meurent au début de l'après-midi pour être remplacées par d'autres le lendemain. Leur couleur varie en fonction e la lumière, de bleu clair à bleu intense ien passant par un violet clair. Le vert des tiges est très particulier aussi et ne ressemble à aucun autre végétal de la région.
Le jour où la photo a été prise, le soleil et les nuages alternaient sans cesse et la balance des blancs, en manuel était difficile à régler.
La chance a voulu qu'en repassant la balance en automatique, le réglage s'est fait par erreur sur "incandescant" et pourtant la photo est fidèle au paysage qui vibrait de bleu et de vert, avec le ciel et la mer.
This photo is one of my favorites. When I discovered the blue of the flax fields during my first year in Normandy, these flowers immediately fascinated me.
The flowers open for a few hours in the late morning sun and then die in the early afternoon to be replaced by others the next day. Their color varies according to the light, from light blue to intense blue passing through a light purple. The green of the stems is also very particular and unlike any other plant in the region.
The day the photo was taken, the sun and the clouds were constantly alternating and the white balance, in manual, was difficult to adjust.
Luckily, by returning the scale to automatic, the setting was mistakenly set to "incandescent" and yet the photo is faithful to the landscape which vibrated with blue and green, with the sky and the sea.

PS. I know that this version of the Scimitar does not comply with what the car would look like in 1970, but I prefer to stick with the information given from the registration. Who knows what might have happened with the car since it was imported to the Netherlands in 1995.
