At the riverside in 1901. The group of young girls at left are seen passing John Atkinson's Pleasure Boat Hotel just downstream from the Continental. The former hotel still exists as two attached houses but the boat house on the right of the property with the decorative barge boards and finials has since been demolished. Also of interest is the steel girder railway bridge seen here under construction. The bridge would open to rail traffic in 1902 and was part of the new formations on the west side of the station. Directly behind the young boy seated on the bank is John Crook's boat hire pontoon, where for a couple of pennies you could hire one of a fleet of rowing boats and spend a pleasant hour or two messing about on the river.

My last day at Carnevale. Masked models and photographers were starting to leave Venice. I had to get a COVID test to travel home. After that I took the vaporetto to my hotel near Arsenale and was very surprised to see a large meetup going on. Of course I joined in. Great turn out. After packing I made a last round of my favorite shooting spots and met some lovely masks. What a nice way to end a very pleasant experience! I hope my body will let me make it back to Venice next year! I took these photos on 28.02.2022.

At Stalybridge Station Buffet Bar. 'Ropa Vieja pie' (old clothes pie in Spanish) is steak, olives, capers & tomatoes and is a variation of a Cuban recipe. The black peas tasted great!.
Parched Peas, also known in Lancashire as Black Peas, are cooked and served with vinegar and are a traditional treat in the North of England especially when served on or around the time of Bonfire Night - November 5th. The cooked, slightly thickened and mushy peas once cooked, are sprinkled with malt vinegar. In the famous Bury Market and in Preston, parched peas are sold ready-cooked and served in brown-paper bags or in plastic tubs, as an autumn delicacy.

At this point a guard house was located to prevent anyone from breaking the monopoly on the production of pottery here. The Nabeshima lords used this pottery as gifts, and not everyday ware, and it thus developed along a more artistic line. Between rain showers I was able to get out and try a pix.
At 5:27pm (ET), SpaceX launched a Falcon9 rocket from LC-39A, and ~8 minutes later, the rocket booster returned to nearby Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The rocket carried 40 OneWeb sattelites to orbit.
