It was very poignant seeing the Ash Buds at RHS Hyde Hall, as the woodland walk there is closed while they assess the trees for Ash Die Back Disease, which has been confirmed in our area.

a few ladybugs showed up just after i sprayed with insecticidal soap for out of control aphids on the pomegranate.
Ash likes to sit on, or lie on, various item and here he has his front legs on top of his soft, catnip filled, tube toy with his tongue slighly visible. A few months back he had to have some bad teeth removed which included the two upper fangs. With the two fangs missing the skin and fur on the upper part of his mouth sometimes curl back and expose a little bit of his tongue.

While walking through the fields, I had taken shelter from the pouring rain when suddenly the sun shone through a break in the clouds, and lit up the tree. The sky looked dark and dramatic
A good healthy flow at Ash Creek Falls. While we were hiking down to it, the clouds kept it completely hidden. Even though we could hear them, we hiked right past until we realized we couldn't hear them anymore. After the rain fell, the sun chased the clouds away and left us with this great view.

Foresters survey ash trees in Dundalk for the invasive emerald ash borer.
Driving up and down every street in a studied area, they first determine the location of each tree and document their progress on a map. They then use a specially calibrated tape to measure the diameter at breast height, about 1.37 meters. Next, they measure the height with a clinometer by counting off paces from the trunk, and then sighting to the base and the highest point of the canopy. Lastly, they’ll assess the overall condition of the tree.
