This Ash-throated Flycatcher had been seen in this vicinity for several days. The location was a grubby urban vacant lot under a flight path to Kennedy Airport and next to a major truck route and a subway line... a very noisy spot!

The restaurant is situated in a small street that resembles a European alley. As Sydney is chilling, the heaters are out. The ambience was delightful.
Ash made this lovely 'fireplace' while I was in NZ.
Fireplaces are quite rare here in Japan (I think they are more common in Hokkaido, the cold north but we live in the south) and we really miss our old open fire in the flat we had in NZ. So Ash made one for me. Ok, it's a 'fake' one, but I love it!
Even though the only heat comes from a single candle, it is really cosy =)
