As the night progressed into dawn, I finally remembered how to use my camera and I settled in to watch the dawn patrol and mass ascension.
Still, nothing compares to the mass ascension at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, where you feel as though you are on the deck of an aircraft carrier that is scrambling anything and everything that flies.
Preciosa ascensión, desde el refugio de Linza, a la Mesa de los Tres Reyes (2.446 m.). Es el techo del Pirineo navarro y de toda Euskal Herria. Esta cima une (de ahí su nombre) los antiguos reinos de Navarra, Aragón y Francia. Las vistas, ya desde el principio de la ascensión, son sensacionales.

These Chuckwagon drivers ride a fine line between life & death everytime they choose to compete in a race. It's an addiction to the adrenaline rush. Most guys live to tell the tale and others ascend into heaven doing what they love.
On an Easter theme, the simple diagonal white cloud reminds me of the Biblical narrative of the ascension of Christ, some forty days after the events at Easter.

Two hikers begin the gentle climb towards the summit of Mount Kosciusko. This shot was actually taken from our campsite. During the course of the morning there was some awesome light across the valley caused by light being diffused by the clouds.
