This image was made with a Karlos 8x10 pinhole camera using a ND filter for 2 more stops of exposure. I use Carestream single sided X-ray film exposed at 60-80 asa depending on light conditions and time of day. I process with Rodinal 1:100 dilution at 20 degrees C for 6 minutes. The windy day made for some beautiful streaks of clouds. Actually, I was surprised I captured a skyline at all, using orthochromatic film.

Photographed March 2013 : PENTAX MX + SMC PENTAX-M 40mm/2.8 on AGFAPHOTO AGFA APX100 rated ASA 64 and developed in ILFORD ILFOSOL-3 (30ml > 500ml , t=7min 45secs @ T=20*C) Negative scanned to SD card on a JUMBL 14MP scanner box.
Analogica con Zeiss Contaflex super, Kodak color da 200 asa, moglie ritratta al volo di sera al Pub Peggio Palaia ( ma è astemia, io no ).

L'església parroquial de Sant Andreu presideix el poblet de Estanyol, al Gironès. Davant l'església hi ha un comunidor. Fa molts anys la meva familia hi anava de vacances, sobretot els meus avis. Però aquest no és l'unic vincle d'ells amb aquesta fotografia, també ho és, en certa forma, com he près la foto en si mateixa.
Foto feta amb una Ihagee Patent Duplex 720 fabricada el 1925; objectiu Meyer Görlitz Doppel-Anastigmat Veraplan f4.5 / 135mm, placa seca Jason Lane Speed Plates de 9x12cm, ASA 25, revelada amb rodinal. The church of Sant Andreu, in the tiny Catalan village of Estanyol, near Girona. The small roof in front of the church is a "comunidor", a place to ward off storms in medieval times. My family spent some summers here, long ago. Estanyol means "little pond".

My first Agfa.
Two lenses? That close together? A stereo camera?
But then why is one on top of the other? The stereo effect would then only work for people who also have one eye on top of the other. That should have reduced the customer base quite significantly.
No, this camera is one of a rare breed. It is a TLR for 35 mm film, the Agfa Optima Reflex, made between 1960 and 1966. This was the successor to the Flexilette, which had a similar layout, but no meter and no prism finder - only a WLF.
On mine, the selenium meter is still working, which is a good thing, because there is no way to set the exposure time manually. The f-stop ring can be set to "A" for automatic, or to fixed f-stops between 2.8 and 22 on either side, black for Bulb mode (? actually, I am not quite sure about that. I could find a manual somewhere and look it up there, but manuals are for weenies), yellow for flash mode at 1/30.
The viewfinder is extraordinarily bright and contains a spliit image focusing aid. The magic lever on the left side (when looking from the front) can be pressed only when the film has been transported and the leaf shutter cocked with the film advance on the bottom. When half pressing it, first a red, the a green flag will appear in the viewfinder. Red means that the shutter is cocked, and if the red flag stays after half pressing the magic lever, it means that there isn't enough light), green means that a valid combination of f-stop and exposure time was found and the camera is ready to fire. When the green flag is there, you can push the lever down all the way and the shutter will actuate with a barely audible click and no vibration at all, so 1/30 should be no problem.
The film sensitivity can be set between 10 and 250 ASA. The film counter counts backwards, like on many other old German cameras. The close focusing range appears to be about 50 cm, which is not bad at all for that time. The lens is a coated 45 mm triplet with a maximum aperture of f/2.8.

ci incontrammo una fredda mattina di gennaio di sette anni fa tu investita dalla macchina che mi precedeva ed io incredula per ciò che stava accadendo....fu amore a prima vista tu che hai avuto fiducia in me e mentre cercavo di caricarti in macchina ( vista la stazza che avevi ) mi leccavi la faccia ed io che pensavo che sembravi ad una mucca con quegli occhi così dolci e quel nasone così umido.... sono stati sette anni e nove mesi di amore infinito di fiducia di dolcezza di tenerezza....mi dicevano che eri stata fortunata ad avermi incontrata ma io rispondevo sempre che la fortunata ero stata io ad averti trovata ...tu così dolce così equilibrata cosi assennata....ci siamo incontrate già adulte impossibile darti un'età visto che gli " umani " dai quali eri scappata ti avevano segato i denti ma avevi a volte dei comportamenti da cucciola....ed avevi un fortissimo istinto materno forse ti avevano tolto i cuccioli chissà... e così quando quattro anni fa in un cassonetto dell'immondizia abbiamo trovato la piccola daisy di circa due mesi e te l'abbiamo portata a casa, non ti sembrava vero di poter finalmente essere quello che eri : una mamma. l'hai cresciuta tu ed ancora adesso la sgridavi la riprendevi e la facevi giocare anche se stavi sdraiata perchè non avevi più tanto le forze....e sabato mattina in un tuo momento di lucidità hai avuto l'istinto di leccarle ancora una volta il muso per tranquillizzarla per dirle che andava tutto bene.... avevamo un'intesa splendida bastava un cenno uno sguardo un sorriso un sussurro e ci capivamo al volo ci parlavamo con gli occhi....vivevamo in simbiosi tu ed io...
ma sabato ho dovuto decidere io per te : ho sperato fino all'ultimo che il tuo sonno ,che negli ultimi tempi si era fatto sempre più lungo e sempre più profondo , ti accompagnasse nel cammino...non è successo ho dovuto aiutare il tuo sonno ad accompagnarti nel tuo ultimo cammino.....
con te se ne è andata una parte di me e niente sarà più come prima.....

According to the Iplehouse assistant manager, Asa was what made them famous and popular.
First shots from the Reto ultra wide and ultra slim. Its not bad for a toy camera, 200 ASA film likes sunlight but then again its set F11 and 125s shutter as well. The little plastic lens is interesting with its handling of Lens flare as circle on the image.
Ultimately cost me $30 so its worth some more playing with, its small and easy to carry
