As you all know, I love innovation. We are just scratching the surface of what can be. This is a fun video that I created. Enjoy!
As a transvestite I enjoy looking at female clothing styles, make-up techniques, hairstyles and women’s shoes. I am influenced by women who are dressed more formally in suits, tailored shirts, elegant court shoes and wear make-up more formally for their work. One such look I love is the television presenter, they always wear full make-up, have their hair styled nicely and wear elegant stylish clothing.
As I’m a man that enjoys dressing up as a woman I simply cannot resist attempting to create the appearance of such a woman. I am aware we all have our own motivations for cross-dressing. My own approach being I seek to try and pass convincingly as I can, I fail in my aspiration but I endeavour to do my best. My ambition is to be seen as female and nobody is aware I am really a man, what a thrill that would be!
I am guilty of posting a variation on this picture a few months ago but I saw it again this week and this version is a closer portrait shot. I believe that trying to look female facially is the biggest challenge we face as transvestites. It is relatively easy to get the body shape as one can employ techniques such as shaving legs, wearing breast forms and hip shapers and choosing dresses, skirts and heels that are very feminine and flattering. The face though...well, we are stuck with what we have so what can be done?
As a man I have a very dark beard shadow and my normal eyebrow shape is thick and bushy with no real shape at all. For the last ten years I have been plucking my eyebrows to be more shaped and defined and reduce the density of the number of the hairs. Nobody appears to have noticed this. In fact people I’ve not seen for a long time often say I’m somehow looking a bit younger. Never underestimate how much effect a nicely shaped eyebrow can have. I don’t like super thin eyebrows and feel a nice tidy shape is better. My current eyebrow plucking seems to work okay in both male and female modes. I may have them defined a bit more if I’m going to record a video as Helene or planning a photo-shoot.
My method for disguising the fact I’ve plucked a bit neater than usual is I let my beard grow for a few days then I pluck my eyebrows or have them waxed into a neater shape at a salon then I shave off the beard. People just assume I look tidier after the scruffy beard stubble.
I require a lot of foundation make-up to cover my beard shadow as even after an ultra close facial shave the dark shadow is present. I don’t mind wearing heavier make-up as I enjoy make-up and like the effect it has upon my confidence, I feel good and better in make-up. I have a weak looking face for a man which helps my efforts to look like a woman as I have no strong facial features and a weak looking chin. This suits me and I am grateful I’m not very masculine.
The secret to getting make-up to work is placing it wear it works. This maybe to bring out an aspect or to reduce an area so it is less noticeable. Too many people, including many real women, just put make up on without ever considering how to use it to enhance ones features. Transvestites love to put on make-up that often is too much as it all at one level leaving the features one has that would look at their best to be hidden in this dominant all over make-up approach.
One should ensure the whole face looks nice and even and softer so much effort needs to be put into applying foundation properly to achieve this. Once the foundation is complete and looks soft and smooth one should aim to enhance their best feature not go mad and try and enhance everything. In my case I have no real cheekbones to make use of, my lips are not nice being very thin and my top lip virtually non existent. For me I was left with only one facial feature I could make use of and this was my eyes. My eyes are not very nice either so I use make-up to try and rectify that and add a bit more a feminine eye shape.
A common mistake is to put eye-liner right around the whole eye. An effect on most people (Male and female) it makes their eye look smaller. The aim is to open up the eyes and make them more feminine. To this end one needs to lift the eye. As our eyes are set in position an illusion of the lift and feminine shape can be added by making the upper eye and lashes stand out more. In this picture because I don’t have feminine eyelashes I am wearing false eyelashes on my upper eye. To finish the upper eye look I have eye-liner drawn from the inner upper corner out to the edge of my eye. I have also used brown shades of eye-shadow with a lighter brown in the arch of my eyebrow to make it stand out more. I also lightly pencilled my eyebrows to give them more definition.
On my lower eye I have eye-liner drawn on from the outer edge but only two thirds of the away across. the line should be thicker at the outer edge and get very thin at the end. The effect is a more feminine, more open eye that looks softer.
As my lips are not attractive they are played down against the eyes. Soft pink lipstick with lip gloss gives them a presence but helps my eyes stand out more. A bit of softly applied blusher on my undefined cheeks adds a bit of colour and healthiness to my face.
To maintain the look I am aware that shorter wigs look better on my facial shape and so produce a result that is more convincing. I like contemporary short female hair style with the hair not just flat as the wig typically is straight out of the box. This short wig was back combed and fluffed up to add more volume and that contemporary feel. It was the liberally sprayed with hair spray to maintain its shape.
I do not have pierced ears so I chose clip on hoop ear rings which can look quite convincing but be aware, they fall off easily if your hand or hair brush catches them
To completely get into the character I was portraying I chose a fitted trouser suit. This required a genital tuck as the fit was tight, and I wore a bra in which I placed my breast forms. I thin wore a plain fitted lycra t-shirt and donned the suit jacket. I chose a pair of burgundy stiletto pointed court shoes with 4 inch heels and as a final flourish painted my nails with pink nail varnish and dabbed on some perfume.
I was finally Helene the woman! I was now ready to walk on set and do my interview.
I have no real idea if I succeeded in my efforts to create the female look, I put my all into it but when one is a middle aged bald man with a dark beard shadow one cannot quite disguise all of this. It is a delight and real thrill to be a man and dare to attempt becoming a woman. I really enjoyed filming the interview. The interview with with another T-girl and was posted on You Tube for awhile but unfortunately it had to be removed due to a change in her circumstances. It’s not always easy being a transvestite but it certainly is an amazing experience and feels fantastic.

- razor saw or other thin precision saw (a miter box helps)

Being something of a proud Luddite, any further development in the world of coaching to me was superfluous. This was it, anything which came later was an irrelevance. The combination of AEC Reliance '760 with Plaxton's Supreme IV bodywork was a pinnacle. Even the livery here of Cambridge based Premier Travel was excellent... real colours, no bendi paint, no flash over in white with vinyl splodges and stripes.
The 12.47 litre (naturally aspirated) Reliance was a treat to drive with masses of bottom end grunt and was practically un-stallable. Pulling from 10mph with a full load in fourth gear was quite possible though not recommended.
This was the second time in quick succession that I'd encountered this coach, here in it's home town and once before as an exhibit at a Showbus Rally held at Thorpe Park. Unfortunately Leyland deemed the AEC plant at Southall a luxury they couldn't sustain and the year following WEB 408T's manufacture, the year of this picture 1979, AEC manufacture ceased. Premier Travel were by this time unusual in continuing to specify 10.00x20 tube type tyres as seen here.
Little did I know when I took this picture that I'd one day be the proud operator of it.

The Easter Parade terminated outside my apartment block but as my windows face away from Bolton Street I was afraid that I might not be able to get any usable photographs of the parade but things did work out too bad even though members of the public did frequently block my view of the event.
Since Ireland joined the United Nations in 1955, the Army has been deployed on many peacekeeping missions. The first of these took place in 1958, when a small number of observers were sent to Lebanon. A total of 86 Irish soldiers have died in the service of the United Nations since 1960
As of 1 December 2015, 493 Defence Force personnel are serving in 12 different missions throughout the world including Lebanon (UNIFIL), Syria (UNDOF), Middle East (UNTSO), Kosovo (KFOR), German-led Battle Group 2016 and other observer and staff appointments to UN, EU, OSCE and PfP posts. The largest deployments include:
Lebanon (UNIFIL) 51 Infantry Group, Syria (UNDOF) 50 Infantry Group.
The Army has historically purchased and used weapons and equipment from other western countries, mainly from European nations. Ireland has a very limited arms industry and rarely produces its own armaments.
From its establishment the Army used the British-made Lee–Enfield .303 rifle, which would be the mainstay for many decades. In the 1960s some modernisation came with the introduction of the Belgian-made FN FAL 7.62 mm assault rifle. Since 1989 the service rifle for the Army is the Austrian-made Steyr AUG 5.56 mm assault rifle (used by all branches of the Defence Forces).
Other weapons in use by the Army include the USP 9mm pistol, FN MAG machine gun, M2 Browning machine gun, Accuracy International Arctic Warfare sniper rifles, AT4 SRAAW, FGM-148 Javelin Anti-tank guided missile, L118 105mm Howitzer, RBS 70 Surface to Air Missile system.
The Army has purchased 80 Swiss made Mowag Piranha Armoured personnel carriers which have become the Army's primary vehicle in the Mechanised infantry role. These are equipped with 12.7 mm HMGs, or the Oto Melara 30 mm Autocannon. The army also has 27 RG Outrider light tactical armoured vehicles. The Army has no tanks, but does have a variant of the FV101 Scorpion light armoured reconnaissance vehicle, with a 76.2 mm main gun.

As I was strolling on the beach, as part of my daily routine, I was attracted by this big camera and went to inquire about it.
I saw two men and a woman so I asked the woman what they were shooting. She told me that the Dutch TV is making a program about Iran and the threats of nuclear war, while not too many miles away from there, the people here in Israel, like myself on the Tel Aviv beach, are going about life as usual.
Ankie is a writer for the Dutch TV, she lives in Ramat HaSharon, north-east of Tel Aviv.

(While strolling in the Olympic Village)... he spotted members of the Lebanese team, and told (me) he was going to go and say hello to them... I said to him, "Are you out of your mind? They're from Lebanon!" Israel was in a state of war with Lebanon at the time. "Ankie," Andre said calmly, "that's exactly what the Olympics are all about. Here I can go to them, I can talk to them, I can ask them how they are. That's exactly what the Olympics are all about." So he went... towards this Lebanese team, and... he asked them "How were your results? I'm from Israel and how did it go?" And to my amazement, I saw that the (Lebanese) responded and they shook hands with him and they talked to him and they asked him about his results. I'll never forget, when he turned around and came back towards me with this huge smile on his face. "You see!" said Andre excitedly. "This is what I was dreaming about. I knew it was going to happen!" (Reeve 2001, pgs. 52-53)

I'm continuing to roll out pics from this 1st such day, August 12, 2024, when I modeled a couple ensembles never before pictured. It was so great to finally re-engage myself as Grace again!

As the remote controled yard switcher shuffles cars, two BNSF oil trains wait to get across the CP at Grand Crossing. One train was cut lose and the other had to wait out more CP traffic before moving south.
As a photographer, your camera rarely gets you in the frame. So if someone uses it to practice and takes a great picture?
You keep and edit the damn photo.
The race is on along highway 20 is on, as L565 works west doing local work to Manchester, and westbound traffic heads to their location on a warm Saturday evening. The 25 car local is seen here between Dyersville and Farley.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This is Rapunzel's iconic outfit from the 2000s. I remember seeing this ensemble plastered everywhere when the Barbie movie debuted. Granted, I never watched it, but I did admire the dolls. I guess that was the whole idea behind making the movie...for Mattel to sell dolls. So the fact that I didn't need a film to prompt me to want the Barbies worked better for them. Anyways, I recall I first had the McDonald's toy version of this Barbie. She had a removable skirt if memory serves me correctly. Of course, the full sized doll dons a removable gown. While my doll's ensemble isn't in the best condition, it is still absolutely lovely. I adore the sheer sleeves, golden glitter designs, and the fabric flower embellishments. I have a weakness for fabric flowers and embroidery. I use flowers similar to this for my own handmade dolly accessories and clothes. My doll technically has her crown, it's just still sewn to her head. It's one of those tiny tiaras that won't stay on once you remove the threads securing it into place. It's interesting that Barbie came with a hair extension when she has "growing" hair (I don't have any of her accessories as you can see here).
As snow falls in the distance, GBRf liveried Class 20s, Nos.20905 and 20901 are pictured whistling through Crown Lakes Country Park in Farcet (just South of Peterborough on the East Coast Mainline) forming 6M10, 09:48 Peterborough - West Ruislip which is conveying two 'KBA' barrier tanks used to transfer S-Stock to/from Old Dalby - Amersham.
BR Blue liveried classmates, Nos.20096 and 20107 can be seen on the rear. The train is hurrying towards Connington Loop where it will recess for 40 minutes before continuing South towards West Ruislip.
Tashkent also known as Toshkent, is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. It is the most populous city in Central Asia, with a population of more than 3 million people as of April 1, 2024. It is located in northeastern Uzbekistan, near the border with Kazakhstan.
Before the influence of Islam in the mid-8th century AD, Sogdian and Turkic culture was predominant. After Genghis Khan destroyed the city in 1219, it was rebuilt and profited from its location on the Silk Road. Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad) IS the engine that took the original Grand Funk Railroad, one of rock music’s most successful groups, to the top of the charts. As their lead vocalist, lead guitarist and principle songwriter the group made a beeline to rock stardom following their show-stealing performance before 180,000 people at the Atlanta International Pop Festival in 1969. Due in no small part to Mark's strong and steady vocals, mastery of guitar and stage charisma, Grand Funk was one of those very few bands who really was better live than in the studio, so it was no surprise when their Grand Funk Live Album reached the Top Five. However, all of this paled in comparison to the group's sold out performance at New York's 55,000-seat Shea Stadium in 1971. Not since The Beatles had any group sold out Shea and GFR still holds the record. In 1995, Mark accepted an invitation to join Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band where his show-stealing, footstompin' performances made it clear that audiences were still hungry for Mark and Grand Funk's music. Even after 40 years on the road, some sort of magical transformation takes place when Mark Farner steps on stage. Out of a chrysalis emerges this charismatic alter-ego sprinkled with stardust. When Mark's on stage he's the consummate, professional rocker who's lost none of his chops. His voice is still clear, strong and on key, his guitar playing slick and lightening quick and his trademark prancing still that of a spring chicken. 30 million records sold...Mark's train keeps a rollin'. - (FYI: Mark is 71 years young)

as my children were keen to point out, within a millisecond of seeing this picture, Emmet (pictured here, the main character of the Lego Movie) does not utter the above catchphrase in the film. But we don't have that lego guy, and I was happy to go with what was on hand :)
As if they were small social insects, to image and similarity of the tireless bees, the persistents thermites, or the laborious ants, they were raising their high walls. They were kneading or they were molding the cement, as the insects work the mud. They were throwing towards the sky their spiderwebs of metal cranes, as the animals use the branches and the leaves. Proud of their civilization, of their castes, of their working members, their soldiers, their kings and queens. Of their high rate of reproduction and of productivity. They were thinking about having created a better civilization. They were thinking about being the chosen species. And really they were not more than an nth repetition of the same scheme…
And the Sun was continued going down, day after day, increasingly red, increasingly sadly, increasingly darkly …

Como si fueran pequeños insectos sociales, a imagen y semejanza de las incansables abejas, las perseverantes termitas, o las laboriosas hormigas, ellos levantaban sus elevadas paredes. Amasaban o moldeaban el cemento, como los insectos trabajan el barro. Lanzaban hacia el cielo sus telarañas de grúas de metal, como los animales usan las ramas y las hojas. Orgullosos de su civilización, de sus castas, de sus miembros obreros, sus soldados, sus reyes y reinas. De su alta tasa de reproducción y de productividad. Creían haber creado una civilización mejor. Creían ser la especie elegida. Y realmente no eran más que una enésima repetición del esquema.
Y el Sol continuaba bajando, día tras día, cada vez más rojo, cada vez más triste, cada vez más oscuro…
