As the November morning mist disappears 66051 passes Norton Barracks at 10.18 on the 15th November 2010 working a lightly loaded 6B36 from Didcot Yard to Ashchurch MOD Depot.
On each side of the sahn are recesses with arched supports known as iwans, which open upon the courtyard. They are of unequal size, and so great in size that they leave no space for the cells to overlook the courtyard. Each of the four iwans represents one school (or legal rite) of Sunni Islam, consisting of Shafite (Shafi'i), Malakite (Maliki), Henefite (Hanafi) and Hambelite (Hanbali). The floor of each iwan is covered by carpets of different color to differentiate them. The walls of the sahn and the Iwans are marvelously ornate, with lamps hanging from lines looming far above. One of the main reasons that Sultan Hassan built the complex was to host the teaching of all sects of Sunni Islam

Mainz was founded around 20 BC by the Romans under the name “Mogontiacum” as a military camp. Today's capital of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate forms a metropolitan area with Wiesbaden, the neighboring capital of Hesse, with a combined population of around 500,000.
The "Republic of Mainz", a product of the French Revolution, was the first democratic state on German territory. The state was represented in Paris by the well-known naturalist Georg Forster, who had been in the Pacific with Captain Cook as a boy. The Mainz Republic ended after only five months in July 1793 following the conquest of the city by Prussian and Austrian troops. Georg Forster died in Paris in 1794.
The State Museum is one of the oldest museums in Germany. Its origins lie in a collection of 36 paintings that Napoleon gifted to the city of Mainz in 1803 to establish an art gallery.
Today the Landesmuseum has extensive art and cultural history collections, ranging from prehistory to modern art.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: This is Rapunzel's iconic outfit from the 2000s. I remember seeing this ensemble plastered everywhere when the Barbie movie debuted. Granted, I never watched it, but I did admire the dolls. I guess that was the whole idea behind making the movie...for Mattel to sell dolls. So the fact that I didn't need a film to prompt me to want the Barbies worked better for them. Anyways, I recall I first had the McDonald's toy version of this Barbie. She had a removable skirt if memory serves me correctly. Of course, the full sized doll dons a removable gown. While my doll's ensemble isn't in the best condition, it is still absolutely lovely. I adore the sheer sleeves, golden glitter designs, and the fabric flower embellishments. I have a weakness for fabric flowers and embroidery. I use flowers similar to this for my own handmade dolly accessories and clothes. My doll technically has her crown, it's just still sewn to her head. It's one of those tiny tiaras that won't stay on once you remove the threads securing it into place. It's interesting that Barbie came with a hair extension when she has "growing" hair (I don't have any of her accessories as you can see here).

I took this dreamy picture in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, the wonderful area between Haarlem and Zandvort.
Went there hoping to find interesting shots with during the deers mating seasion, but, excluded the many growls and fleeting appearances, this was the only very decent picture I could take.
Anyhow I'm glad I was able to caught the golden atmosphere

For several years, I was unable to post videos here for whatever reason. They just wouldn't upload, so I gave up until recently, when I attempted again and discovered success. So I'm now rolling out over some time here videos that have previously only been available on my YouTube channel.

As described a little more in a relatively recent (4/22/22) Update posted in my Flickr profile (at flickr.com/people/99244229@N04/), I had my first opportunity to be fully en femme since before the pandemic. I've rolled out pics from this day, March 7, 2022, when I tried out a couple ensembles never before modeled. It was so great to finally re-engage myself as Grace again!

* a Taffeta Alley black PU-leather 2.76"-wide waist belt with double-prong buckle, and 8-row silver eyelets, from amazon;

This is As Islay Dying, a cocktail created by Matt Hunt in 2018 at Death & Co in Denver and published in Death & Co Welcome Home in 2021. At first glance, this cocktail is hard to pin down. An equal mix of whisky (Islay scotch no less) and gin is rare in cocktails, but the general formula follows a fifty-fifty martini. My first guess was that it would be a whiskey centric cocktail, but after tasting it really is a martini variation. What surprised me the most was how tamed the Islay scotch was. Typically a three-quarter ounce measure of a peat bomb whisky would force the drink to be scotch cocktail, but it's somehow balanced. Just scotch, gin, and vermouth aren't enough to bring everything together, some help is required. A few dashes of absinthe and a teaspoon of génépy bring some herbal and alpine flavors do wonders to bring the other ingredients into harmony. This drink carries the spirit of the martini well, a clear spirit-forward cocktail with nuance and complexity.
0.75 oz Botanist gin (Tanqueray No. 10 is a good substitute in my tests)
0.75 oz Laphroaig
0.75 oz Dolin Dry Vermouth
0.75 oz Dolin White Vermouth
1 tsp génépy
2-3 dashes absinthe
Combine all of the ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice and stir until arctic cold. Strain into a chilled nick & nora glass (or coupe). Garnish with a lemon peel.

Built in 1980 as West Yorkshire Road Car Company 1020, this Leyland National 2 B44F was finished in NBC poppy red. Cancelled before delivery, it found it's way to Scotland and joined Patersons of Dalry in Ayrshire along with sister vehicle LCS317W for use on the company's local services.

As an added surprise, our guests were treated with a parting gift: their very own crystal ball! Now they can experiment with the glass ball photography that Andrius Aleksandravicius is known for. Happily our guests loved it and it was a great close to the evening.

As I've got some new software I though I'd go back and have another go at an early pic of Taylor Swift, the first time I saw her at Manchester Arena.
As we approach the end of 2020 a year that will go down in infamy thanks to a new world virus, I have decided to post some images from the last long-distance trip I undertook to Portugal Spain and the UK back in 2019.
Returning to both Portugal and Spain is difficult for the transport enthusiast and especially the road transport enthusiast, because so much has changed since the heady days of the 1980s/1990s when interesting vehicles were everywhere.
