As I've never seen one of these Lubber Grasshoppers before, except in pictures, I was delighted when I spotted one in the flower bed! These guys can get up to three inches long, and this one was pretty close to that!

Same as those on previous picture but having more repetitions of the same pattern... Not as effective as flower tower, as here next level is less than half, thus it's eating more paper. Folded from 30 cm of kami. The last level I opted not to try to finish it completely as it wasn't enough precise for that. The finish on the center is the same as on violet doodle... :)

Opera giovanile del pittore bresciano firmata e datata 1510, come si legge sulla tavoletta lapidea in basso: “HIERONYMI RU/ MANI BRIXIANI/ OPUS. M.D.X. MENSE DECEMBRI”. Raffigura il momento immediatamente successivo alla Crocifissione, rievocata nello sfondo dalla rappresentazione del Golgota e delle tre croci vuote, in cui Cristo, prima di essere deposto nel sepolcro, viene avvolto in un telo di lino e compianto dalle persone a lui vicine nella Passione: a destra Giuseppe d’Arimatea, i santi Giovanni e Nicodemo, la Maddalena e un devoto.
This is an early work by the artist from Brescia signed and dated 1510, as can be seen on the stone slab in the lower section: “HIERONYMI RU/ MANI BRIXIANI/ OPUS. M.D.X. MENSE DECEMBRI”. As a cold front makes its way through town, CP 246 banks around the curve at Howard Avenue in Des Plaines with CP's Every Child Matters locomotive (CP 8757) leading.
I would say it was worth running into a downpour for this shot.

As a long boat sails up the River Trent, Stanier 'Princess Royal' 4-6-2 no.6201 'Princess Elizabeth’ passes over the river Trent with the “Cathedrals Express” running from Kings Cross-Grantham-Derby and return. We were caught out when she took the line to Stenson Junction, whilst we waited at Spondon to no avail. She would evntually fail at Derby with a broken tender-loco water pipe.
As much as the Navajo are a part of the Antelope canyon so are the hoards of people who visit, rather than experience, the slot canyon. Fortunately the guides try to shuttle the tourists through the narrow canyons so not to disturb photographers who are taking long exposures. I took this photo knowing a tour group would walk right into my shot, but I wanted to show the relationship between the slot canyon and the many tourists that visit it. A 20 second exposure turn them into 'ghosts.'

In the last 20 years Antelope Canyon has rivaled the Grand Canyon National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park as a “must see destination” on a grand tour of the Southwest. For photographers it is a stunning visual paradise on earth. Besides the incredible light and remarkable colors of the Navajo sandstone, Antelope Canyon easily accommodates photographers due to the fact that there is no hiking involved to get to the entrance, the actual slot canyon is very short (about 200 yards in length), the best light is from mid-morning to noon (so no waking up early to catch the sunrise), and since all tours are guided you are given invaluable tips on the best places to position your camera.
What is known as Antelope Canyon is actually part of the Antelope Canyon Navajo Tribal Park located right outside of Page, Arizona (located in Northwest Arizona near the Utah border). The tribal park consists of two regions: Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon. Upper Antelope Canyon (Tse Bighanilini’) is by far the more popular of the two as a result of its easy access and spectacular light beams that has made this slot canyon famous.
The best time to visit Upper Antelope Canyon is between April to October when the trademark light beams illuminate the slot canyon. I visited in the month of December knowing well I wouldn’t have the spectacular light but the tradeoff was I wasn’t going to deal with the maddening crowds that have characterized Antelope Canyon the last couple of years. Besides after a couple of intense days photographing nearby Monument Valley, I wanted to experience the slot canyon with my own eyes rather from behind the camera.

Lake Palace (formerly known as Jag Niwas) is a luxury hotel, of 83 rooms and suites featuring white marble walls, located on a natural foundation 16,000 m2 rock on the Jag Niwas island in Lake Pichola, Udaipur, India. The hotel operates a speed boat which transports guests to the hotel from a jetty at the City Palace. It has been voted as the most romantic hotel in India and in the world.
It was built in 1743 - 1746 under the direction of the Maharana Jagat Singh II (62nd successor to the royal dynasty of Mewar) of Udaipur, Rajasthan as a royal summer palace and was initially called Jagniwas or Jan Niwas after its founder. The palace was constructed facing east, allowing its inhabitants to pray to the Surya (Hindu Sun god) at the crack of dawn. The successive rulers used this cool haven as their summer resort, holding their regal durbars in its courtyards lined with columns, pillared terraces, fountains and gardens.
Because of its picturesque and scenic locations, Udaipur has been the shooting location for many Hollywood and Bollywood movies. Indian sections of the James Bond film Octopussy were filmed in the city, the Lake Palace, and the Monsoon Palace. The nearby desert was the backdrop of the remarkable rescue of Octopussy (Maud Adams) by Bond (Roger Moore).
Some scenes from the British television series The Jewel in the Crown were filmed in Udaipur. The Disney channel film, The Cheetah Girls One World, was shot in Udaipur in January 2008. Additional non-Indian movies/TV serials filmed in Udaipur include: Darjeeling Limited, Opening Night, Heat and Dust, Indische Ring, Inside Octopussy, James Bond in India, Gandhi, and The Fall.
Some of the Bollywood movies shot here are Guide, Mera Saaya, Phool Bane Angaray, Kachche Dhaage, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Jalmahal, Yaadein, Return of the thief of the bagdad, Eklavya: The Royal Guard, Dhamaal, Jis Desh Mei Ganga Rehta Hai, Chalo Ishq Ladaaye, Fiza, Gaddaar, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Khuda Gawah, Kundan, Nandini, Saajan Ka Ghar,Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,Ramleela, In addition, many Bollywood films' songs were filmed in Udaipur. Udaipur is also the setting of Star Plus's hit serial Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. TV serials Swayamber of Rakhi Sawant and Swayambar of Rahul Mahajan on NDTV Imagine also filmed here at Hotel Fatehgarh. A hit historical show by Contiloe Telefilms named "Maharana Pratap" on Sony is shooting in that place. The pop Star Shakira performed in a party on 15 November 2011 of real estate tycoon owner of DLF Kush Pal Singh.The Party was held in Jag Mandir Palace.
