Artist's Pallete is an amazing, multi-hued cluster of hills at the base of the Black Mountain range in Death Valley National Park. The 9-mile Artist's Drive that courses through this scenic area was closed when I visited due to the government shutdown, but it was still incredibly striking even from the main highway.

This popular roadside attraction in Death Valley National Park shows a colorful hillside that gets its colors from different iron oxides in the mineral outcrops.
Yunkurra/Billy Atkins, respected Martu elder and award-winning Martumili artist. Jigalong, Western Australia.
Hertford Cakes in Fore Street has both friendly customers and staff. I enjoyed my two cups of coffee and especially the artist painting advertising on the window. Art to me is not how much it costs but to witness the clever way the artist did her work gave me pleasure.
Or a Southern Bracket. Almost indistinguishable from each other. Apparently both can be drawn on when very fresh. As it dries the drawing is preserved. A Wild fungi in the Isabella Plantation, Richmond Park, London. I know some of the family names but not specific names and would appreciate any help.
Staithes is a seaside village in North Yorkshire, England. Roxby Beck (a small river) runs through it. Formerly a productive fishing centre, Staithes is now largely a tourist destination and is frequented by many artists. In 1745-1746, the young Captain James Cook worked in Staithes as a grocer's apprentice where he first gained his passion for the sea.
This young street artist, aged in his clothes and in his makeup, he played an eccentric violin, built with materials that make you think about the past and the future at the same time. He was so absorbed in the music, lying on the ground, one with earth and air. There were three, two boys and a girl. A kind of violin, a kind of viola and cello. Very nice atmosphere.....
In 2007 Joshua Bell played in a metro station in Washington for 43 minutes, more or less ignored by all the hurried travelers, and earning barely $ 32.17. Yet Joshua Bell is a street musician as many, in fact not even a street musician, is one of the greatest violinists in the world. American, born in Bloomington, Minnesota, is 47 years old and he was 16 when he played with the greatest orchestras in the world. He plays a violin at the height of his talent: an extraordinary Stradivari in 1713, worth nearly four million dollars. Yet, the Metro Washington the vast majority of passersby ignored him.

This little green house at Crystal Cove is actually a small gallery for local artists. The day we stopped by, there was an exhibit of artwork from a local photographer. It 's such a cool place to relax and enjoy the ocean view.
