Miyamoto Musashi was a renowned Japanese samurai, strategist, artist, and writer from the early 17th century, celebrated for his undefeated record in 62 duels and the founding of the Niten Ichi-ryū sword style. He is considered a "sword saint" (\(kensei\)) and authored influential works like The Book of Five Rings and Dokkōdō. Beyond his martial prowess, Musashi was also a skilled painter who worked in the minimalist sumi-e style and a calligraphi.

This is my favorite Grafiti I've seen. I wish I knew the artist, and I hope that I was able to do them justice. Found, at the old Air Force base in Victory, VT.

Un paese dove ogni anno pittori di fama internazionale e giovani artisti si ritrovano per dipingere le porte di stalle, magazzini e cantine creando vere opere d’arte a cielo aperto.
Il paese dista una quindicina di chilometri da Imperia.
Un piccolo borgo che conta 42 abitanti e circa 150 porte dipinte che contrastano con il grigio della pietra ed animano tutto il borgo medievale .

Valloria, the village of painted doors.
A village where every year painters of international fame and young artists find themselves to paint the doors of stalls, stores and wine cellars creating real works of art in the open air.
The village is about fifteen kilometres from Imperia.
A minuscule village with 42 inhabitants and about 150 painted doors that contrast with the grey of the stone and animate the whole medieval village.

The eastern boundary of the Death Valley basin is defined by the Amargosa Range. This side of the Valley is extremely rich in the various colors in the rock makeup of iron oxides and chlorite. I find the Badwater Road along this range to be exquisite, with jaw-dropping colors at every turn of the road. During a good Spring, there could be fields of wildflowers too. The climax is a short drive into the hills to Artists Palette. Still a little flat in that mid-day light, I worked for more shadows and somewhat sacrificed the crazy palette to the left. You can see more hikers on the edge there making you guessed it selfies. It was a lovely calm shirt-sleeve day.
Had the day off work, went for a random day trip to Sheffield, and thought I'd try my hand at some street photography. Found this artist plying his trade in the streets.
One of the other two rooms in Sera's cabin. I love this artist workstation. Seiko does too. Sera is a master of cluttered elegance.
It's easy to see how this lookout got it's name, with it's view up the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River toward the Falls. You can also see how the park got it's name, from the color of these cliffs. A mandatory stop for anyone visiting the park.
This day there were fires burning in surrounding areas, causing some haze in the distance.
