Yeah i'm not really proud of this one, it's not what i envisioned it to be.

Photoshop could probably tweak it slightly better but yeah everyone knows i am too dumb to use that complicated software, lol yeah. I might try when i have the time tho..

And yes. That is my best friend. She has nice hands.

On October 15, 2022, Bay Area artist Rachel-Anne Palacios presented a brief history of the art of Mexican Tin, and led a workshop where intergenerational participants created their own works of tin art.

Rachel-Anne Palacios is a self-taught, multicultural artist, whose pieces reflect the respect she has for culture, spirituality, elders, and the cycle of life and death.

Workshop participants chose among many design templates to create unique works of art, using 36-grade tooling aluminum, pencils to trace patterns, foam padding underneath the aluminum, a burnishing tool, and Sharpie pens to add color. See the beautiful finished works of art in these photos!

Rachel-Anne teaches cultural and folk arts education programming throughout the Bay Area for people of all ages as well as giving back to her Oakland community by serving as the resident Cultural Arts instructor at Cleveland and Bella Vista Elementary schools.

She is driven by her interest in her cultural legacies as well as expanding her students’ understanding of local and global cultures.

Sponsored by Hayward Public Library, Hayward Arts Council, and Friends of Hayward Library, in association with "Remembering Our Ancestors," an exhibit celebrating the Mexican holiday of "The Day of the Dead," on display on the 2nd floor of the Hayward Downtown Library through November 5.
