This unique bench is on Montrose Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C. Montrose is a street that has been seen in a number of Hallmark Christmas movies. One was shooting there just a day ago,
...
Journey to the Center of the Earth. Between the dark and vast. Buried and invested like an insect in a funeral maze. Then when all the lights are like waking dreams fed jubilant ecstasy. Time seems defeated.
Then in spring blinded, disoriented ... and throat dry as pumice .... This place is called "Valley of hell"!

Artist...Smug : Location....Cavern Quarter.
"Pool of life"...C.G. Jung.
The Swiss psychiatrist, one of the founders of modern psychology, never visited Liverpool, but after a vivid dream about the city in 1927, he wrote an essay, in which he said it was "the pool of life, it makes to live".
A spokeswoman for Liverpool BID said those reading the essay took a reference to a place "into which many streets converged" as being Mathew Street and Rainford Square in the Cavern Quarter.
I shall put detailed close- ups of some of the art on my 'stream subsequently.

This was shot on December 20, the night before winter solstice.
I waited till the last light barely sweeped the horizon and highlighted the details on the waves and pebbles at Larkollen Bay, southern Norway.
My mission was to use the light in a specific way that only the objects just above water surface was lighted, while the body of water itself was cast in shadows.
A tribute to winter solstice you might say ;-)
The winter solstice (vintersolverv) occurs at the instant when the Sun's position in the sky is at it`s greatest angular distance on the other side of the equatorial plane from the observer's hemisphere. This means that from now, the days will be gradually have longer periods of daylight.
Worldwide, interpretation of the event has varied from culture to culture, but most cultures have held a recognition of rebirth, involving holidays, festivals, gatherings, rituals or other celebrations around that time.
The word solstice derives from Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still).
I wish peace and happiness to every living being.
