SculptureX Regional Undergraduate Exhibition 2015

Sponsored by the Frostic School of Art at Western Michigan University, Whitdel Arts presents an exhibition of regional undergraduate sculpture students in conjunction with the SculptureX Symposium hosted by the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History, Wayne State University, October 9-10, 2015.
Twenty students have been chosen from an open call distributed to undergraduate art programs across the Midwest and Eastern United States. Their work presents a wide range of approaches to the disciplines of sculpture, mixed media and installation.

Naar analogie met eerdere edities in 2001 (Rotterdam) en 2002 (Brugge), brengt Villanella zo’n 60 Europese jongeren samen in Antwerpen voor een creatief jongerenkamp. De deelnemers worden onder andere gerekruteerd uit het Europese Kunstbende-netwerk.Tijdens dit kamp worden verschillende workshops georganiseerd in verschillende disciplines met begeleiders van binnen - en buitenland. Er wordt ook gewerkt aan een toonmoment waarbij de deelnemers aan een ruim publiek het resultaat tonen van hun workshops. Tijdens het kamp is er ook ruimte voor de deelnemers om de stad te leren kennen.
Art Connexion is een onderdeel van Studio Villanella Festival. Studio Villanella is een vierdaags festival voor jong talent in kunstencentrum-in-spe DE STUDIO. Van 25 tem 28 augustus ontvangen we tientallen kunstenaars uit 14 Europese landen in het kader van ART CONNEXION, het cultuurluik van Antwerp European Youth Capital.
