Tracy Arm Fjord It is named after a Civil War general named Benjamin Franklin Tracy. It is located about 45 miles (72 km) south of Juneau and 70 miles (110 km) north of Petersburg, Alaska, off of Holkham Bay and adjacent to Stephens Passage within the Tongass National Forest. Tracy Arm is the heart of the Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness, designated by the United States Congress in 1980.
Tracy Arm-Fords Terror Wilderness contains 653,179 acres (2,643.32 km2) and consists of two deep and narrow fjords: Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm. Both fjords are over 30 miles (48 km) long and one-fifth of their area is covered in ice. During the summer, the fjords have considerable floating ice ranging from hand-sized to pieces as large as a three-story building. During the most recent glaciated period, both fjords were filled with active glaciers.

During a project exploring slow media and stillness in photography I explored the arm as a structure, as a disconnected being and experimented with still poses and long exposures. These photos allow the viewer to experience a sight that can only be captured by a camera and brings them to a deeper level of appreciation and affection towards the arm.
Jetzt zu meinem Foto: Auch hier ist ein Gegensatz vorhanden – wenngleich nicht für jeden auf den ersten Blick ersichtlich, daher hoffe ich dass jemand bis hier hin lesen wird: “ARM und REICH”. Hier möchte ich eine kleine Geschichte erzählen, die gestern in der Stadt beobachtet habe. Ich fand es einfach toll und es hat mich auf diesen Gegensatz gebracht:
In der Fußgängerzone habe ich gesehen wie ein Mädchen (links) einem Obdachtlosen (rechts) etwas zu Essen gebracht hat und sich beide an den Brunnen gesetzt haben. Sie haben sich beide Unterhalten bis ER fertig war. Danach haben sich die Wege wieder getrennt und ER ist zurück Richtung Bahnhof. Von hinten sieht man es nicht so wie von vorne, daher auch diesen kleinen Text dazu. Auch wollte ich diese Szene nicht so fotografieren, dass beide von vorne zu sehen sind.
Übrigens es hat mich immens beeindruckt. Toll.

Mechanical engineer Dan Baechle carefully planned out a device that doesn't need batteries, is lightweight and can evenly distribute the load of a heavy weapon.
"It can help stabilize the weapon and take the load off of their arms," he said. "It's made from composite materials to make it as light as possible, but also to ensure the range of motion that Soldiers need."

I added greed seam binding to the neck and arm holes. I like it better now. This is what it looked like before I added the seam binding. Isn't it sad that this was the best picture of the bunch. The ever present problem of self timers, bad lighting, and my super blinking ability.
