A BeagleBone Black with a hand-wired cape drives the eight LED matrix panels of Octoscroller. The 3D printed angle brackets really tie the whole piece together.
One of many uses (abuses?) for a Bogen Magic Arm. I needed to do some somewhat long exposures today, and it was raining. A Bogen Magic Arm fastened an umbrella to a tripod quite nicely.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- When engineers from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory brainstormed on how to improve Soldier lethality, the idea of a third arm seemed like something that might help.
Mechanical engineer Dan Baechle carefully planned out a device that doesn't need batteries, is lightweight and can evenly distribute the load of a heavy weapon.
"It can help stabilize the weapon and take the load off of their arms," he said. "It's made from composite materials to make it as light as possible, but also to ensure the range of motion that Soldiers need."

Post Processing is done by my five year old. Quite accidentally, really -- I was away from the computer a few minutes and came back to this. But I decided to let his actions stand unchanged.
I caught this 'Romeo' calling for 'Juliet' in Salmon Arm with the voice of a rooster but not quite a rooster. Flying very low as if not to be seen! Next time I'll bring a movie camera...
Turnagain Arm is a part of the Gulf of Alaska. It is one of two narrow branches at the north end of Cook Inlet, the other being Knik Arm.
