I saw this beach from the bus, and since I had a day pass, I just pulled the bell and got off to explore it. Glad I did. Just a very peaceful place.
At the risk of demystifying what has been one of my most faved photos, I have now posted some other views of the beach. In the other direction, a mother and toddler strolled along the shore where a group was learning to sail. And I had several spare hours to myself on a sunny warm day when others were at the office.

Bellis perennis is a common European species of daisy, often considered the archetypal species of that name. Many related plants also share the name daisy, so to distinguish this species from other daisies it is sometimes qualified as common daisy, lawn daisy or English daisy. Historically, it has also been commonly known as bruisewort and occasionally woundwort. Bellis perennis is native to western, central and northern Europe, but widely naturalised in most temperate regions including the Americas and Australasia. It is a perennial herbaceous plant with short creeping rhizomes and rosettes of small rounded or spoon-shaped leaves that are from 2–5 cm long and grow flat to the ground. The flowerheads are composite, in the form of a pseudanthium, consisting of many sessile flowers about 2–3 cm in diameter, with white ray florets (often tipped red) and yellow disc florets. 5952

Constructed during the Jin Dynasty, the Summer Palace is the archetypal Chinese garden, and is ranked amongst the most noted and classical gardens of the world.
I wanted to climb these steps and see what's up there but I was so tired and looking at it has weakened me more. I just sat, stared and snapped white waited for my niece to come down.
Puerto Villamil (on the southeastern corner of Isla Isabela) embodies the archetypal end of the road – in a good way, the kind that lures weary city folks to pick up and move halfway around the world. Backed by a lagoon where flamingos and marine iguanas live, and situated on a beautiful white-sand beach, it’s a sleepy village of sandy roads and small homes. However, overdevelopment threatens, and there’s been something of a mini building boom over the past several years.
Undoubtedly, when General José Villamil moved here in 1832 with hopes of organizing a model community made up mostly of whalers, he found the location as beguiling as do today’s visitors. Unfortunately, the draftees’ peaceful inclinations proved to be more utopian than real, and they ended up destroying the colony. Villamil later introduced cows, horses and donkeys, which quickly reproduced, threatening the island’s delicate ecosystem.

The clarinet is considered a "young instrument", in reality it is quite old, its history goes back to antiquity. For example, in the ancient Egyptian arghul, the Arabic zummarah and in many Asian instruments the archetype of a beak instrument with a reed is preformed.
From my already very old Bb clarinet with many traces of use it is the so-called heart (keys). The total length of my instrument is 68 cm.
The illustrated keys are located in the lower part just below the upper part.
The clarinet is at home everywhere, e.g. classical music, chamber music, jazz, brass orchestras, klezmer, it has a warm round tone, but can also sound shrill.
"In Europe the first clarinet star was Anton Stadler (1753-1812),
to whom Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote almost all of his works for clarinet, basset horn or basset clarinet "on the body".
"In order to be easier to make, transport and maintain, the clarinet consists of five separate parts, which are inserted into each other with cork-covered pegs:
the mouthpiece, also called the beak,
the pear (also called barrel or barrel),
the top piece,
the lower part
and the (sound) funnel or bell (also called cup or lintel).
The funnel is decisive for the sound of the lowest notes.
The history of single-reed instruments goes back to antiquity. Since ancient Egyptian times, in classical antiquity as well as in the Middle Ages, a large number of different instrument forms, often with a double bell, have been recorded. In the reeds of these instruments, the vibrating reed is created by cutting into the stem of a reed (idioglottes reed).
In regions with a living traditional music tradition, some of these instruments have been preserved until modern times (e.g. Sipsi)" Wikipedia

This staircase, designed by Guiseppe Momo in 1932, is an architectural highlight in the Vatican. Because of the two intertwined spiral ramps, visitors going up do not encounter those coming down. The archetype is the Bramante Staircase, which is also located in the museum complex. However, this staircase can be visited only as part of a special tour. This is a view from below.

The church Sainte-Radegonde is a Catholic parish church in the village of Talmont-sur-Gironde.
Built on a cliff overlooking the Gironde estuary, this church is sometimes seen as the archetype of the Saintonge Romanesque style.
The church Sainte-Radegonde is built from the eleventh century on the initiative of the Benedictine Abbey of Saint Jean d'Angely, which would have made the sanctuary a step on one of the ways of Saint-Jacques Compostela. Thus, after following Via Turonensis to Saintes, some jacquets would they chose to go to Talmont from where they embarked for the Basilica of Soulac, on the other bank of the Gironde estuary, continuing their journey through Soulac.
Although a plaque commemorating the pilgrimage was affixed close to the church by the "Society of Friends of Saint-Jacques," the importance - if not the reality - of it runs up against the absence of hard evidence prior to mid-twentieth century.

Bellis perennis, the daisy, is a European species of the family Asteraceae, often considered the archetypal species of the name daisy. To distinguish this species from other plants known as daisies, it is sometimes qualified as common daisy, lawn daisy or English daisy.
Bellis may come from bellus, Latin for "pretty", and perennis is Latin for "everlasting".
The name "daisy", possibly originating with this plant, is considered a corruption of "day's eye", because the whole head closes at night and opens in the morning. Geoffrey Chaucer called it "eye of the day". In Medieval times, Bellis perennis or the English Daisy was commonly known as "Mary's Rose". It is also known as bone flower.
Daisy is used as a girl's name and as a nickname for girls named Margaret, after the French name for the oxeye daisy, marguerite.
Doorkijkkerkje in Borgloon Belgie
See-through church in Borgloon Belgium
One of the absolute eye-catchers in Borgloon is the see-through church of the Belgian architect duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh. Reading between the Lines is 10 meters high and consists of 100 layers of steel plate stacked on top of each other in the shape of a Loons church. The construction weighs no less than 30 tons. The special construction method ensures that the landscape always remains visible throughout the church, both from a distance and up close. The church is therefore present, but also absent from the landscape. More info can be found here.
The see-through church is located in the Haspengouw hills to the south of Borgloon, between the town and the Roman Kassei, and can be regarded as landscape art. The whole is made up of horizontal Corten steel plates, connected by welded square plates. The whole is pushed into the sloping Loon landscape on a concrete foundation. The shape refers to the archetype of the Western European Church.
“The mermaid is an archetypal image that represents a woman who is at ease in the great waters of life, the waters of emotion and sexuality. She shows us how to embrace our instinctive sexuality and sensuality so that we can affirm the essence of our feminine nature, the wisdom of our bodies, and the playfulness of our spirits. She symbolizes our connection with our deepest instinctive feelings, our wild and untamed animal nature that exists below the surface of outward personalities. She is able to respond to her mysterious sexual impulses without abandoning her more human, conscious side.

SN/NC: Bellis perennis, Asteraceae Family
Bellis perennis is a common European species of daisy, of the family Asteraceae, often considered the archetypal species of that name.
Many related plants also share the name "daisy", so to distinguish this species from other daisies it is sometimes qualified as common daisy, lawn daisy or English daisy. Historically, it has also been commonly known as bruisewort and occasionally woundwort (although the common name woundwort is now more closely associated with Stachys). Bellis perennis is native to western, central and northern Europe, including remote islands such as the Faroe Islands but widely naturalised in most temperate regions including the Americas and Australasia.
---
At the junction of the Airfield Ring [Flughafenring] from the L264 is one of many artifacts that remind us of the military past of the island of Usedom in the Third Reich (and subsequently the GDR): the so-called main guard [Hauptwache], from which it went on to the Army Research Center [Heeresversuchsanstalt] Peenemünde-East as well as to the Air Force Test Establishment [Erprobungsstelle der Luftwaffe] Peenemünde-West.
Especially the Army Research Center is (tragically) known not only as a "cradle of space flight", but also as the place of development of the rocket A4 (better known as retaliatory weapon [Vergeltungswaffe] V2), the archetype of a cruise missile. The development and production were a masterpiece of engineering and science, but were carried out with massive use of concentration camp prisoners and prisoners of war as forced laborers.
After the end of the war, the main guard, like much else, was razed to the ground. The few visible remains are now part of the monument landscape [Museums-Landschaft] of the Peenemünde Historical-Technical Museum [Historisch-Technisches Museum Peenemünde].

Angels are archetypal beings and we are unwise to dismiss the impact they have on our lives. One of the curses of Modernity is that we are programmed to think "literally". But angels do not belong to that category of thought (and neither does God). Angels are experiences of the collective unconscious, so when someone tells you they've seen an angel, believe them. As C.G. Jung said many times, the collective unconscious is the realm where the most important ideas we have as humans are born.
* This is not a multiple exposure this time. A single shot processed differently.
Merton distinguishes two aspects of wisdom: . . . metaphysical and speculative, an apprehension of the radical structure of human life, an intellectual appreciation of man in his human potentialities and in their fruition. . . . moral, practical, and religious, an awareness of man’s life as a task to be undertaken at great risk, in which tragic failure and creative transcendence are both possible . . . a peculiar understanding of conflict, of the drama of human existence, and especially of the typical causes and signs of moral disaster . . . beyond the conscious and systematic moral principles which may be embodied in an ethical doctrine and which guide our conscious activity. Wisdom also supposes a certain intuitive grasp of unconscious motivations, at least insofar as these are embodied in archetypes and symbolic configurations of the psyche.
-The future of wisdom : toward a rebirth of sapiential Christianity / Bruno Barnhart ; foreword by Cynthia Bourgeault ; afterword by Cyprian Consiglio.
In reference to the archetypes created by Jung. These archetypes, which are primitive symbols belonging to the collective unconscious, which is the sum of the personal unconscious, are present everywhere. There are 12 different archetypes: the wise; the innocent; the Explorer; the dominant; the creator; Guardian Angel; the magician; the hero; the outlaw; the lover; the fool; the orphan.

Happy 17th Birthday, Macro Mondays :)
I joined Macro Mondays on 26 September 2016, and I'm a happy member ever since. A wonderful group that has taught me new photo techniques, lures me out of my comfort zone, saves me from the Winter blues, and kept me sane during those weird, time- and endless days of the pandemic. I also admire how the moderators manage to come up with new themes every week. Thank you, MMs!
And for "Party", it's Blingbert aka Bertie again. Of course, it had to be him ;) He got all excited when he heard what MM's Birthday theme would be about. "Let me come along!", he begged, "you know I love parties! Will there be Karaoke?" "I hope not", I answered. "Don't worry, Silke", Bertie said, "you don't have to sing, I'll do it!!!" He always knows how to talk me around. Bertie got even more excited. "I will sing an aria! How about something from The Valkyrie?" "What?!? No, you won't!", I yelled. "It's a party, Bertie, parties are about people having fun together. Fun. If you sing something from The Valkyrie the party will be over before it begins." Bertie looked seriously abashed. And I felt sorry for being so harsh on him. "Come on, I know you love Classical music. So let's take the 'Classic', and add 'Rock'. How about that?" "There's something like 'Classic Rock'"? He eyed me suspiciously. So what is more "Classic" in Rock music than the archetype of all things Rock? Rock 'n' Roll, of course. And when I played the YouTube video of Wanda Jackson's "Let's Have A Party" to him, he positively turned nuts. "Yessss! That's it! Why have I never heard this before? It will be a blast! And from now on, my second name is Wanda!"
You've seen "Blingbert Wanda" before (please see the first comment). For "Party", I retried my other idea for the (artificial) "Bird" theme: Bertie in front of a spinning fidget spinner. Back then, the backdrop had been far too busy. In my first attempt, I had used the camera's in-built "Live ND" filter, and didn't like either the colours, light, or the way the motion blur looked. So this time, I used a real ND filter, a Vario ND filter. It's also somewhat of a filter overkill because I wondered if I could combine the star filter with the ND filter because party = bling. I'm happy to say it worked, and this time, I also managed to get a nice-looking motion blur of the fidget spinner.
Setup: I glued the fidget spinner to a black tile with modeling clay. Next, I put Bertie Wanda on/halfway into a small glass Christmas bauble filled with tiny, shiny confetti stars. I used modeling clay once again to fixate the bauble on a small plastic box to get the right height. At one point, I also knocked the tile over when I rotated the fidget spinner, so the tile knocked Bertie on the bauble over, and all those tiny confetti stars got tossed onto the table, onto the carpet, everywhere... The joys of macro photography ;)
Size info: Bertie Wanda is 4,5 cm long, and the entire width of the frame is about 6 cm.
HMM, Everyone!

I don’t know the identity of the little critter sitting on it !!

"I won't just survive
Oh, you will see me thrive
Can't write my story
I'm beyond the archetype
I won't just conform
No matter how you shake my core
Cause my roots, they run deep".

"No sólo sobreviviré
Oh, me verás prosperar
No puedo escribir mi historia
Estoy más allá del arquetipo
No me conformaré
No importa cómo sacude mi corazón
Porque mis raíces, corren profundamente".

Historically known as Hyde Park, Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site is one of the region's oldest Hudson River estates. For nearly two centuries, this place has been home to socially prominent New Yorkers. A superb example of its type, Hyde Park represents the domestic ideal of the elite class in the late nineteenth-century America. It provides a glimpse of estate life, the social stratification of the period, and the world of the American millionaire during the era historians refer to as the Gilded Age.
Its main feature is a 54-room mansion by the distinguished architectural company McKim, Mead & White, with Charles Follen McKim designing the plan and Stanford White assisting by serving as an antiques buyer. Designed and built between 1896–1899, the house is a good example of the Beaux-Arts architecture style and one of the architects' finest residential projects. The interior of the mansion is an archetype of the American Renaissance, incorporating a range of European antiques and finely crafted period reproductions.
