Hunting tower on the edge of a wood in the morning frosty grass.

Several areas of Epping Forest are still under water - nothing like the West Country but noticeable for all that.

Cloud inversion through the Aire valley. Village is East Morton.

Viking Bay and Louisa Bay

Shortly before I took this photo (the light through the fog intrigued me), I was shouted at by a man who objected to my camera. It's only the second time this has happened but he was particularly aggressive, pointing and yelling for me to 'turn the camera away'. I hadn't even noticed he was there until he started the commotion!

So I tried to explain what I was doing but he wouldn't listen. He even threatened to call the police!!! Rightly or wrongly I suggested he should go ahead, which shut him up for a moment and I made my 'escape'. He was still yelling at me as I walked away.

The incident shook me up... but it won't put me off enjoying my hobby. Most people I meet on my photo walks are friendly and curious, I'm happy to say :).

Thanks for looking! And if you have any tips for dealing with people who object to your camera, please share!!!

The same barn has the previous post, this was shot before any light had lit it.

Trevose head in Cornwall can be a very windy and stormy place this was taken in 2020 at the height of one such storm. To add something a little different this image has been captured in infrared light.

Getting fuzzy. Scrabbled...

From the Richard Harvey Studio One

Took a trip up to the Moray Coast on Sunday to get some coastal shots and play around with ND filters.

The first location visited was Bow Fiddle Rock in the hope of a lovely sunrise, similar to the ones we had the 2 previous mornings. Also being a geologist this was an interesting site and my first time visiting this location. It is an impressive arch that has formed over millions of years with the sediments originally being deposited around 750 million year ago. Over time the sandstone has been metamorphosed into quartzite due to pressure and heat and the weaker layers have weathered away to give the appearance of the top of a bow.

This is another re-take of a composition I already posted on Instagram a few weeks ago.

That was on a very grey and dull day, but on my walk up from Vauxhall to the BBC yesterday morning I decided to take advantage of the clear sunny day and have another bite of the cherry ...

Great time of year for photographing gulls in the sunshine - here one has captured a piece of bread crust but isn't sure what to do with it (without getting it pinched).

With a newly sharpened blade, seemed an interesting contrast between the hard, straight tool and the soft, curly shaving.

Santa Pod Raceway, England

The site of a neolithic enclosure in Epping Forest, UK. Thought to have been erected around 500 BC to enclose livestock and watch for enemies. Now a collection of wonderful trees.

Our garden, a purchase from our recent visit to RHS Garden Hyde Hall.

We've had a period of heavy rain. There's little mushrooms growing in the lawn overnight. Why not grab a torch, a board to rest the camera on and shoot one? But of course...!

Canon EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens. Handheld light, single shot, 2s delayed shutter, SOOC exposure, minor distractions around the edge of the frame removed.

Benacre beach in Suffolk - dead trees adorn the beach here and make fascinating shapes. Need to return at a higher tide.

Fabulous conditions this morning a fog filled Pipers hill wood.

I managed to acquire this cutie for free with some cut dahlias, and then photograph it before I gave it the run of my garden :-)

I think this is common stump brittlestem but need confirmation. Epping Forest - the tree may be hornbeam.

Sunshine in between the snow showers this week. #appicoftheweek

Male Stonechat in the gorse.

Another one from the Barbican estate in the heart of the City. There seemed to be a lot of hipster there doing impromptu photo sessions, so I’m pleased to be able to get a shot without people cluttering the place up!

I picked up a few leaves on my morning walk today and found myself fascinated by the details on this one!

Taken with the Laowa 60mm macro lens at F8

Little elephant hawk moth - taken in a rush and hand held without lighting so a bit soft - found in the moth trap at Holme nature reserve run by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. What a lovely group of people although they don't do a bacon bap which Cley does - highly recommended.

The only thing moving in the scorched volcanic landscape under Mount Teide at the top of Tenerife. This area is now terribly overcrowded but as is often the case, 100 metres away from the cafe, all is peace.
