Shot from the hip, as I’m not partial to knuckle sandwich.
Let’s be kind and say she looks a bit ‘tired’
Went looking for adders and found instead this lovely grass snake and lots of juvenile common lizards - fine by me.
We spent nearly 15 minutes together and I left it basking in the September sunshine.
Enys Gardens Enys is situated a few miles to the East of Penryn in Cornwall. The beautiful gardens are a genuine joy and the bluebells during spring are an eye to behold. The building have been left to rack and ruin but are slowy awakening from their slumber. The Bluebell festival in May is a joy and I was lucky enough to look around last Tuesday in the pouring rain.

Some shots practically beg to be taken even if you hadn't set out to take any. But there's no begging here, not from Freddie. When you have such a commanding presence there's no need...

A long range shot of some Welsh Woodland lit up magnificently last week.
A crop from a much bigger 3:2 shot that I think works better in High Res on a big screen. This is the abridged version for the mobile generation.
Up early again to get some dawn and sunrise photos around the mouth of the river tyne. This shot was taken with an ND filter and was exposed for over a minute to give the sea a ghosting effect.

Just above the Kruger NP in South Africa lies the Drakensberg mountain range. It could be a different planet in comparison. The climate is temperate and frequently covered in fog and mist. There are also many beautiful waterfalls which tumble down the escarpment. This is an image I took some time back of Lisbon falls which always reminds me of something out of Middle Earth.
A misty moonlit night of auroras. Not a composite or stacked image - this is out of the camera, with only color correction, cropping and conversion from RAW in Lightroom.

"if you could scratch just about there please" - fallow deer does in Epping Forest today. Things will hot up soon now as the bucks return.
Another twilight shot from my recent visit to Battersea Power Station with my little Sony RX100 and GorillaPod. I quite like the illuminated 'shoulders' beneath the chimney stacks ...
Much better light this morning as the male came in to collect breakfast. The background is a photinia shrub having one of its best ever years.
Finally getting out properly and using the 70 - 200mm f4.Really liked the sun burning through the early morning fog.
Candid shot during this morning’s photowalk … which was peppered with occasional agony from the tendonitis in my foot.
A species of sundew covered in sticky filaments with which to catch prey. This fly has been caught a while back and is already dehydrated (for want of a better word). Drosera species.
Just discovered this building after waking up this morning and knew I had to go and visit it and take some photographs.
Another challenging location due to the light and the fact that a bunch of cranes and diggers were blocking it from the angle I'd planned to capture it ...
One more from a series of images captured at the start of the month when 2 fallow deer bucks were still battling.
I've tried a couple of times to get tilt-shift shots of the Guildhall, but was thwarted by various things getting in the way on those attempts.
Today I managed to grab a shot in the few seconds when there weren't any people standing in the way or walking through ...
