The Lord Leycester Hospital (often known simply as the Lord Leycester) is one of the best preserved examples of medieval courtyard architecture in England and is a charity supporting ex-servicemen. It is located in Warwick, England, next to the West Gate, on High Street. It is a Grade I listed building. The Hospital is a prominent and internationally famous feature of Warwick. For almost 900 years buildings have been erected and civic activity has taken place on the site, starting with the chapel built in 1126. The site was donated by the 12th Earl of Warwick in the 14th century to the United Guild of the Holy Trinity and St George. The Guild Hall, Great Hall and Master's House were constructed in the late 15th century. Over the centuries, the ancient buildings and 500 year old gardens have been admired by many famous visitors such as Charles Dickens and Oscar Wilde, by Kings and Queens, such as King George V and the Queen Mother and ordinary travellers from around the world. I wondered what this poor man did for the rest of the day as he worked and dried out. Must have been horribly uncomfortable.
Each lens has a superb IQ and distinct character and the EM1 mk2 is a fantastically feature rich camera that makes the best of its teeny mft sensor.
During my life I never really splashed out on photogear until a few years ago when my pension kicked in.
In my rather flimsy defence, all the lenses are second user but all are in mint condition.
I stopped feeling guilty ages ago so puhleeze don’t go all judgemental on my a$$.

Who can fail to admire a wild flower growing in what looked like little more than a pile of building sand and rubble. If there's any moisture there, well...it’s found it!

Well, there I was washing the strawberries, running cold water over them from the tap when I thought.... "Oooh, look at that light" so, I put a magnifying lens on the camera (never used it before) and snapped this.

Castle Stalker is a four-storey tower house or keep picturesquely set on a tidal islet on Loch Laich, an inlet off Loch Linnhe. It is about 1.5 miles north-east of Port Appin, Argyll, Scotland, and is visible from the A828 road about midway between Oban and Glen Coe. The islet is accessible from the shore at low tide. The name "Stalker" comes from the Gaelic Stalcaire, meaning "hunter" or "falconer".
Baddesley Clinton is a moated manor house, about 8 miles (13 km) north-west of the town of Warwick, in the village of Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire, England. The house probably originated in the 13th century, when large areas of the Forest of Arden were cleared for farmland. The site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and the house is a Grade I listed building. The house, park and gardens are owned by the National Trust and open to the public; they lie in a civil parish of the same name. Wikipedia
Always makes me think of that Everly Brothers song "The Price of Love" also covered by Bryan Ferry. I was out practicing my handheld nighttime photography & was really pleased at the result. Probably not the greatest photo but I see some improvement on what I've been doing.

Mi más reciente toma de mi bienamado Peñón de Ifach, otra más en pijama 😄, efectuada la semana pasada desde la terraza de mis temporales aposentos, desde los que podía disfrutar de tan gratas y privilegiadas vistas.

This is my most recent capture of my beloved Ifach Rock, another one in my pajamas 😄, taken last week from the terrace of my lodging in Calpe, from which I could enjoy such pleasant and privileged views.

Just a nice little lion (about 50cm) in the Big City center. Many times I just passed by, but today he's got his share of my attention :-)
I'll be away from tomorrow for a long weekend. Look after the roses while I'm gone. Thanks very much...!
My previous posts showed a sea haar firmly over the Northumberland coast for a few days but then it cleared to reveal thunder storms rolling through. We'd just missed a soaking from this cloud as it moved over the coast and the pretty little village of Alnmouth.
The mill photographs were taken from different positions as [https://www.flickr.com/photos/jkortla1] noted. The colour one (2 of 2) was taken around 12 minutes earlier than this one. The light changes rapidly as the sun goes down and I think the position of the sun allowed the b&w conversion to work quite well. I tried converting the coloured one taken from the other angle and it did not work as well. I think I too prefer this one.

I have been thinking about and shooting a lot of ICM images lately. ICMs come in all shapes and forms. You see quite a few photographers on Flickr that present them in beautifully subdued tones and gentle textures, in essence creating a painterly work of art that most of us would be quite happy to have hanging on our wall. This obviously is not one of those. This was taken at the skate park on the south bank in London earlier this week. This guy had long hair flowing from under his cap and I managed a couple of shots of him as he went whizzing by, his hair flying out behind him. So this is neither subdued or particularly gentle in its textures. For me it's about colour and movement and to some degree athleticism as some of these skaters are a joy to watch as they skilfully practice their sport.

The River Severn flowing through Worcester was in flood. The Red Buoys are a warning and barrier for river craft from straying towards the weir. I just liked the scene and the reflections with the vivid colours #appicoftheweek
