After photographing The Latest Free Derry Makeover a few days ago, Local news reported an overnight paint bomb attack on the wall.
One local Gay spokesperson was keen to stress that there was no proof that the attack had been homophobic, he pointed to the fact that the ombudsman's report on the 1972 Claudy bombing had been released and the overnight attack could have also been connected to that.
By about 4pm the wall had been repainted and the Gay Pride rainbow Free Derry wording remained in place. It had come through the attack unscathed.
Stopped at The Green Welly cafe on our way back to Bo'ness from Fort William via some other places.. Think we did around 160 miles..
Always a good place to pop in on there!
Snacks, tea and cappuccino time!!
Then we noticed the Himmy appreciation society gathered around our bike!! (Royal Enfield Himalayan!).

115/365 4/25/11 It's Teacher Appreciation Week at my daughter's school, so here's a special thank you to all the teachers out there who take our children when they are just tiny little buds, and they create a safe learning environment for them where they can blossom and reach their full potential.

Last year was my first year with a child school aged. I did not know about teacher appreciation week and felt like a dummy when my son came home at the end of the week and said his teacher got lots of gifts from everyone but him! Blush!
This year, I forgot, but luckily someone posted an idea on pinterest and reminded me :)
These are little pin boards to have on their desk for important notes and other things.

The trail crews in the area have done an amazing job repairing old sections of trail that have been damaged by weather, landslides, or trees. Here is one such section that crosses the main lake outflow.

For a subject to be strong enough to be worth photographing, the relationship of its forms must be rigorously established. Composition starts when you situate your camera in space in relation to the object. For me, photography is the exploration in reality of the rhythm of surfaces, lines, or values; the eye carves out its subject, and the camera has only to do its work. That work is simply to print the eye’s decision on film. - Henri Cartier-Bresson - on composition. "American Photo", September/October 1997, page: 76
