The thing I really appreciate about film is how long it takes. It makes every image I take that much more special, it is treated with more care, composition is very important, and the edits I make to it are thought out more and considered.

For this shot, I drove 2 hours after waking up at 4a.m. I could see the red glow of the clouds while I stood on the headland, excited about what was about to happen. I ran around at different compositions before finally clicking the shutter speed. That took an hour. I then drove home. The film sat in my cupboard for three months before being developed. I wait and waited until my scanner arrived, and then spent 1 hour scanning it in at the highest quality. I then spent 1 hour taking all the dust particles of that shot, and another hour editing, cropping, resizing and thinking how this shot would look best. And here it is.

One thing about staring at one photo for an hour is looking at all the intricate details of the photograph. You might not see it, but the sun rays are shining through this headland - the slight orangey glow when you really zoom in. Amazing.

One of the best sunsets I've seen in a while.

_______ "WHY ARE WE DOING THIS"______

Please understand that this certificate is part of a work of appreciation that we do together, my wife and I.

the so-called visual balance and the process of psychic acceptance within the natural phenomena of consciousness. "

"My job is to analyze the quality of photography, its framing, dynamics, artistic style, perspective, color balance, light compensation and especially the edition that plays an important role."

This critical work that we do in private and without attacking the sensitivity of people, is done between my wife and me.

Even the seagulls appreciate a beautiful sunset. View On Black

Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Los Angeles, California 2012

I wondered if these two boys who were tirelessly sledding would eventually notice the stunning sunset that was rolling out before their eyes. As if on queue one stopped at the top of the hill, placed his hands on his hips and lived in the moment in appreciation of what he was blessed to see.

A tip jar at the open bar of a local art gallery. I was bummed, because, in the age of credit cards, I didn't have a single bill on my person...or even a penny for that matter.

Almost every morning a flight from the Middle East returns troops home for R & R and every flight is greeted by DFW Fire & Rescue with a Shower of Appreciation.

As the soldiers deplane and make their way to customs, through the glass-enclosed walkway, clad in the battledress uniforms, passengers in the terminal below stop what they are doing and begin clapping. I have observed passengers stop boarding their flight to stand a cheer as long as they could before continuing their own journey. Passengers, in restaurants, cease eating their meal or exit the establishment to applaud. Once through customs the soldiers are greeted by another gathering of people most of whom have never seen nor known these soldiers before. The people are there just simply to welcome the soldiers’ home. It is an emotional site.

I wish I had thought about capturing this sooner! This older lady was wheelchair bound and her son was taking her through the exhibit hall. Most of the arrangements were at eye level when standing so her eye level was more toward the base. She would stop and touch and enjoy the fabric of each base. I could get philosophical and make some analogy here but will let you draw your own if you're so inclined. I was just touched by her enjoyment of what was put before her. :)

My dear, sweet Mom has been in the hospital for over 2 weeks with pneumonia. I thought it would be nice to bring in a platter of cookies for the nurses on her floor for Valentine’s day.

Under everybody's hard shell, is somebody who wants to be appreciated and be loved.

Looking down into Glenbrook Gorge, AR03 can be seen on the approach to Glenbrook Tunnel with the out-skirts of Sydney in the background and the skyline in the far distance.

AR03 is a stabling movement for the second of three SSR coal rakes, whilst only for a short period this leaves two of three SSR coal rakes stabled.

This photograph is inspired by a shot taken by Chris Walters from the same location.
