Long day at work, headed home later than usual. Stopped on a hill above a dairy farm to watch the day disappear. Jackson Browne belting out "The Pretender" on the radio. Seemed fitting...
So many vintage trucks and automobiles in Nelson, Nevada. Some operable, some not. Whoever owns this place has a serious addiction to collecting old vehicles.
Happy Truck Thursday!
Happy Color My World Day - Green!

----
When I visited the Canisius-Church in Berlin in early 2017, the altarpiece "Golden Field" occurred to me. Looking on the website, I remembered that I had seen golden fields in metro-stations without knowing what they belonged.
This one I found quickly at Station Zoo. It was in use.
The artist Winfried Muthesius has designed a golden field for the Canisius church in Berlin. In 2003 he installed "Golden Fields" on walls and columns in 14 metro-stations. The fields have survived cleaning attempts and can still be seen today, partly and in different conditions.
In April 2017, I saw that it was now possible to remove the remains of the underground station Zoo, where I took the picture.
Now I found another golden Field at U-Bahn-Station Wittenbergplatz.

Mid March and the first day out of the year looking to photograph Kingfishers.
After another successful dive this male Kingfisher climbs away with a Fish.
Kingfishers are widespread, especially in central and southern England, becoming less common further North.
It is estimated that there are between 4,000 and 7,000 breeding pairs in the UK.
One last photo of Antony Gormley's "Another Place" installation on Crosby beach in Merseyside. I couldn't make my mind up yesterday whether the symmetrical or the off centre composition looked best so here's the centralised shot for comparison. It was taken around sunset. I can't help imagining how different these statues will look in stormy conditions, I should imagine they'll be even more dramatic. For now though, I'm glad I had chance to capture them looking so eerily serene and contemplative. I used a Kenkoo ND1000 filter for this photo.
There are always other ways to look at things, sometimes it is the subtle differences that make dreams become realities. I particularly enjoy delving into my archives and discovering these things some years later.
Haven't used my female avi for a while, thought to get her some new hair and skin and then a new photo :)
All elements in this image is from SL (yes, another excuse to buy meself some sakura trees lol)
I like these birds because they are bold and I can get a little closer to them with my "not so good" telephoto lens.
The very beautiful pearl bordered fritilliary. Another butterfly that is again sadly rare in the UK, but thanks to dedicated conservationists there are small local colonies that are surviving against the odds.
Another 1 of the many images I took at Mono Lake of what was simply a stunning sunset with the lenticular cloud forming in just the right spot and the last rays of the sun catching the clouds beautifully.
