A Little Owl rousing........

Birds rouse by raising their feathers away from the body, shaking them out, and rearranging them. Often this behavior is performed during grooming, after a bath, or just when the bird feels content and relaxed. Rousing clears the plumage of any debris or excess water, much like a dog that shakes its fur out.

When I came upon this Cormorant gazing out over the water at a local lake, I wondered if it was lonely or just liked hanging-out alone. I’ve found there is a difference.

"All by Myself" is a song by American singer-songwriter Eric Carmen. The most notable cover version of the song was recorded by Canadian singer Celine Dion in 1996.

What else should I be?

All apologies

What else could I say?

Everyone is gay

What else could I write?

I don′t have the right

What else should I be?

All apologies

In the sun

In the sun, I feel as one

In the sun

In the sun

Married

Buried

I wish I was like you

Easily amused

Find my nest of salt

Everything is my fault

I'll take all the blame

Aqua sea foam shame

Sunburn freezer burn

Choking on the ashes of her enemy

In the sun

In the sun, I feel as one

In the sun

Married

Married

Buried

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Haven't been out for a while with the ol' Canon, so I went through my archives, and thought I'd post an oldie goldie from the past.

Since it was a Canadian who invented basketball, this was my homage to James Naismith, and for all of those who shoot for the stars ;)

I thought of my husband when I photographed this flower. He is a violin maker. This flower has its own beautiful scrolls. They remind me of the scrolls of his violins. Well, art imitates life all of the time. I like all types of art because art makes me feel and feeling is an essential part of being alive. A good day, afternoon, evening or night to all!

Rain drops gathering on a Nasturtium leaf, looks refreshing.

The fires over east are devastating, I have no words to describe the horror of it all.

I just hope those still in it can find the courage to prevail.

Took this image a while back which I call "All Polished Up". Looks as if the ladybug was just very nicely polished, like after you wash your car. You can also see the reflection of the blue sky.

Hope Y'all like it. Lol: Gasssman.

This is the DRD Arctic Express. You can actually get the entire train from a gacha machine at the December Arcade, although the Engine, Coal Car, Railway Cars, and Railway Car Steps are all Rare items... so good luck with that. ;-)

What are you doing at the window? (asked softly one of the old ladies, whilst knitting a wool sock)

I'm listening... (the little girl replied)

Listening? To whom? (asked the other old lady... so surprised that she stopped crocheting the little snowflake and looked up at the girl)

To myself... and I'm waiting for the story... (whispered gently the little girl, still watching outside the window)

And what do you tell yourself? (continued the lady with the snowflake)

I like to think about what I did today and what I want to do tomorrow and all the other tomorrows... I'm telling a story where I am the hero... (and the little girl smiled and turned her gaze towards the old ladies... her grandmothers)...

All the other tomorrows? What do you mean with that? (asked the grandmother with the sock)

Other tomorrows... after tomorrow there is another tomorrow... and another one... and another one... other tomorrows (this time the girl was puzzled)

She expected that her grandmothers understood this... after all they have more yesterdays than her... you can see them in their hair... it's all white and grey... one has the color of the winter sky and the other has the hair white with golden accents, just like the golden fields from summer)

The old ladies were surprised... and once again silence descended in the little room.

All was quiet... all except for the fire... You could hear a crackling and popping sound... and it seemed louder... and maybe something else... Was it the wind?

The Carolina wrens like to sneak into the mealworm feeder when the bluebirds aren't nearby. They take turns patrolling the area, then when it is safe they head into the feeder. This wren is giving his mate the "all clear" signal. Backyard bird.

Kids in Bangladesh are special. Very curious, funny and always love to be photographed! Their eyes are a kaleidoscope, which reflects the complexity of life in a given region. They live an adult life and are compelled to make money. They help raise younger children. Kids are not even registered until they are 10, as it's unlikely they might survive.

Every time I'm awake I can see your dress hanging on the back of the door

I feel like it's staring me down, so I look to the floor

Every time I move, tripping on your shoes, every time I open a drawer

I let the skeletons out and we dance with the hore

I got all this love, nothing to do with it now

When you gonna come and get it? I can't throw it out

I got all this love gathering dust in my house

I got all this love, all this love

Water's getting rough, swimming in your stuff, I just wanna get to the shore

I drowning in memories of you that I try to ignore

Still, I'm playing [?], hanging with the ghosts, telling them the story of you

They always laugh at my jokes as we dance through the roof

I got all this love, nothing to do with it now

When you gonna come and get it? I can't throw it out

I got all this love gathering dust in my house

I got all this love, all this love

Baby, when you gonna come? (Gonna come)

Gonna come now

Are you ever gonna come? (Gonna come)

Gonna come now

Are you ever gonna come? (Gonna come)

Gonna come now

I got all this love, nothing to do with it now

When you gonna come and get it?

I can't throw it out

I got all this love gathering dust in my house

I got all this love, all this love

I got all this love, no one to give it to, no

Tune-Listen

This tree, illuminated by the fleeting light, is at Combestone Tor in Dartmoor National Park. A wonderful, rural landscape stretching all the way to Haytor Rocks on the far horizon.

BSing around. Boredom.

(Haunted Christmas Series No.6)

’Tis winter now; the fallen snow

Has left the heav’ns all coldly clear;

Through leafless boughs the sharp winds blow,

And all the earth lies dead and drear.

And yet God’s love is not withdrawn;

His life within the keen air breathes;

His beauty paints the crimson dawn,

And clothes the boughs with glittering wreaths"

-Sammuel Longfellow 1864

All gardeners live in beautiful places, because they make them so

Flaking paint and an old padlock on a Central London door.

The vast coastal dune fields of Namibia, Africa, are home to beautiful wildlife, such as this Springbok, sprinting up one of the dunes. They are specially adapted to this area, and can eat a plant rich in water, but bitter, which their own species in other parts of Namibia would not be able to tolerate.

Previously unpublished shot from March 2020. The title is unashamedly taken from the title of an awesome Ultravox post-punk song from 1981. On editing I did notice two haunting wailing faces in her knees and now I cannot un-see them, I urge you not to look!
