Fluorescent ringlight lamp & cree-LED lamp

They say that you can tell the age of the lady according to her hands. If this be true, how about those who have dull and dry hands? Winter and washing can dull your hands as well as sun exposure, chemical products from washing, dry wind can make your hands dry. Hence, if you wanted to look...

www.nadyana.com/pamper-your-hands-to-make-it-younger/?utm...

A very long and random list of my favourite things, and why......

1. I played guitar when I was a moody teenager, but hadn't played for ages anymore, when my husband bought me this absolutely amazing sounding beauty....... now I play guitar again :)

2. Gold necklace with amethyst hanger passed on to me from my aunt ( dad's sis ) When I was 14, I had a Summer-job at the hospital my aunt worked for and I stayed at her place in Amsterdam. My aunt lived alone.... she and I settled down behind the TV each evening, with 4 chocolate desserts as dinner, to watch sad movies.

3. Gold ring with alexandrite stone, passed on from my nan ( mum's mum ). I have been told it used to fascinate me as a baby when my nan wore it......... it still does ! It changes colour from red to purple to blue to green.....fascinating !

4. Jug belonged to my grandad ( mum's dad ). I remember him washing and rinsing my hair, when I was small, with cold water he used to get with that jug, from the rainbarrel in the backyard. I used to love how the jug made gurgling sounds, while grandad poured.

5. Gold bracelet passed on from my stepgrandmother ( dad's stepmum ). I remember her as a fragile, greyhaired old Indonesian lady, shucking rice, by tossing it with this big round tray and blowing the shucks out, in mid-air. She would do this, dressed in sarong, amidst the tulips in her Dutch frontgarden :)

6. Gold weddingring passed on to me from my great-grandmother ( mum's nan ). She died when I was only 1 year old and for a while I thought I had no memory of her, untill I saw a photo of her long grey hair, rolled into a bun and fixed with 2 knittingneedles...... I remember looking up at those two knittingneedles bobbing around above my head !

7. My dad recently gave me his gold ring. It has been in his family, passed from father to son, as far back as the family can be traced. It's a thick gold band decorated with 8 detailed silver and blue (?) symbols. My dad has given me some reference books and I am now busy trying to unravel the meaning of the symbols..... I love the ring, a message from my ancestors !

8. Half a year after a wonderful guy and I fell in love, we bought each other a simple, cheap silver ring, to confirm our love to the 'world outside'. Twelve years later, when we finally decided it was safe to get married, we just couldn't replace our rings for bright new gold ones, so that simple, thin, cheap, worndown, silver ring, is my weddingring :)

9. A gold chain, with a gold hanger with blue stone (possibly Topaz). The hanger was once part of a pair of earrings, gandad gave to nan for their wedding. Nan split them and gave, one each as hanger, to her 2 daughters, for their weddings. My mum gave it to me for my wedding..... something blue !

10. Teddy was a present from my mum and dad, for my first birthday, and has been my very best friend as long as I can remember :)

11. Poekie-bear ! A few years ago my daughter was in a car-crash and I spent day in, day out at her bedside in the hospital, for weeks on end. I must of been exhausted, as now and then, I'm sure I saw this teddybear, behind the window of the hospital giftshop, wave at me as I passed by. I never mentioned it to anyone. One day my mum came to visit my daughter, passed the giftshop..... then went back and bought me this bear, because, she said; "I saw him wave at you !"

12. A collection of some of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen, a gift from the fotographer.

It , to me, also represents my camera which, for obvious reasons, is not on this photo, but would still be laying in a drawer, were it not for his question "If you have a camera, why aren't you taking photos with it" ?

Chrysoberyl is composed of beryllium aluminum oxide and is colorless when in its pure form. Trace amounts of iron color the mineral yellow (as seen here), brown, and green. Chrysoberyl is an extremely hard and durable mineral. It is most commonly found as greenish-yellow crystals. Although better known for the rare and valuable cat's eye and alexandrite varieties, chrysoberyl is also cut into such attractive gems as this 114.25 carat stone from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Chrysoberyl gems were popular in 18th and 19th century Portuguese and Spanish jewelry and in Victorian England, but today are not widely seen in jewelry. The name Chrysoberyl comes from the Greek word "chrysos," meaning golden, and the mineral beryl. It was thought to be a type of beryl until the late 18th century, when it was recognized as a distinct mineral.

Crown of Norway

The Crown of Norway is the crown of the King of Norway and was made in Stockholm in 1818 by goldsmith Olof Wihlborg. The crown is a corona clausa (closed model) of gold consisting of a circlet bearing eight large stones, primarily amethysts and chrysoprases surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves with three pearls set as acorns between each of these stones, the largest of these being a large oval green tourmaline, a gift of the Brazilian consul in Stockholm to King Charles III Johan in the front. From the rim of the circlet are eight gold strawberry leaves, each set with a precious or semi-precious stone (except that covered by the large tourmaline in the front), between which are set eight pairs of gold oak leaves with pearl set acorn between them. From behind these strawberry leaves rises eight half arches, four of them being each set with four precious or semi-precious stones alternating with four pairs of oak leaves and pairs of pearls and the other four half arches consisting of gold branches of laurel leaves. These half-arches support a blue enamelled orb sprinkled with gold stars and surround by an equator and meridian band of half-pearls and supporting at its top a Latin cross of six amethysts. Among the other precious and semi-precious stones set in the crown are an emerald, a ruby, a topaz, an alexandrite and a white opal. The crown is lined with a red velvet cap covered with pearls alternating with small crowns embroidered in gold thread. Although the goldsmith work was carried out by Olof Wihlborg, it is not known who designed the crown.

The Crown has a height of 24,5 cm, a diameter of 18,5 cm by 20,7 cm and a weight of 1500 grams.

The Crown has been used at four coronations and has had a prominent place at two benedictions. It has also been placed on the coffin of the deceased monarch since King Carl Johan's death in 1844.

The Royal Regalia of Norway is a collective term for three crowns, two orb and sceptres, the sword of state, the anointment horn and a marshal's baton. When Carl III Johan of Norway (Charles XIV John of Sweden) came to the throne in 1818, it was clear he would be crowned in Trondheim as prescribed by the Norwegian Constitution. None of the medieval Norwegian crowns or other regalia had survived, so the King himself ordered and paid for the items. The coronation of King Haakon VII and Queen Maud in 1906 was the last to be held before the coronation requirement was removed from the Constitution. However, both the King's Crown and the Queen's Crown were placed on the altar during the Service of Consecration and Blessing for King Harald V and Queen Sonja in 1991.

The Regalia are kept in Nidaros Cathedral and are on display there.

So as a disclaimer. i tried to crop my dumb finger out of this, but it didnt look right.

I didnt take any where they were all together because this was kinda just a fun shot. I had been rolling around in the grass and sat up to find this little blade of grass in my ring.

I say these rings represent me because the one on my middle finger is my class ring, which has a dragon on one side as the school mascot and 2009 for the year i graduated. The other side says Kay and is a christian symbol. On the top is my school name and in the middle is my birthstone, Alexandrite. Which looks different in every light, which is why I love it. The second one is from my grandpa, he gave it to me the christmas before he died. A simple K for Kay and a heart for love. It may be losing some of the jewels but I dont care. I like it. So since these represent me I decided it would be a good picture to finally do the tag ive been tagged in like 3 times. 10 random facts about me:

1) I have 3 siblings, we are all really close. Every Sunday is family day. We all hang out and its awesome.

2) I love tigers. They are my favorite animal.

3) My favorite color is red. I only own one red shirt.

4) I like answering questions almost as much as I like asking them. I usually plague my friends with random questions.

5) I feel honored that so many people view my pictures. I never thought I could get to this place. I love Flickr and all you amazing people.

6) I am in a confused state as to what i should do when i graduate college, but i have 3 more years, hopefully I figure it out.

7) I will always love a good bubble bath

8) I went on a horse once, but wouldnt let him move because I was scared. I havent been on one since (that was like 8 years ago)

9) I love bookstores. I love the smell and feel. I would stay in there all day if I could.

10) I cant eat Mini Wheats anymore because once I ate them with sour milk. Now i associate the 2. So i cant eat em without tasting it. Grosses me out, makes me sad, cause i really loved them

Shown here are the transmission spectra for a synthetic corundum specimen. It displays the Alexandrite effect and becomes different colors under different kinds of white light.

Sri Lanka is an important producer of gemstones. The country is a major source of fine sapphire, ruby, garnets, moonstone, cat's eye, alexandrite, tourmaline and many more. The interesting thing is that nearly all mining activity in Sri Lanka is artisanal, meaning that it is carried out from small, local, "mom and pop" operations that show up in the countryside as little shacks - as in this photograph taken near Ratnapura in the southwest - generally in the middle of wide valleys between steep hills.
