Fountain of Happiness

27June Studio (Thailand)

Location: Clifford Square

Fountain of Happiness is an interactive installation that features seven sets of swings and light tubes designed to resemble fountains. Visitors are welcome to share moments of happiness on the swings and watch as the colours transform with each swinging motion. It invites both the young and young-at-heart to unwind, play and set off various lighting effects to infuse fun colours into the city skyline.

The installation leverages Alibaba Cloud's AI-driven sustainability solution, Energy Expert, to measure and analyse real-time energy consumption, creating a space where art, sustainability and technology could co-exist in harmony.

In the AI-driven series of artworks by Duncan Rawlinson, vivid hues and organic forms converge to create a symphony of color and shape. Across this collection, swirling patterns emerge in striking shades of red, blue, pink, and white, each one infused with a vibrant energy that seems to dance off the canvas.

The composition pulls from a playful palette of cartoonish illustrations and minimalist abstractions, while the curvilinear patterns echo the fluidity and constant motion of the natural world. Organic forms blend seamlessly with the abstract, punctuated by the playful dotted patterns and irregular shapes, each evoking a sense of dynamic motion, almost as if the artwork were alive.

Rendered in the unique aspect ratio of 6:17, the series creates immersive landscapes that invite observers into a whimsical world of color and form. Abstract yet evocative of real-world elements, each piece harmoniously melds the familiarity of nature-inspired imagery with the ethereal quality of abstraction.

Rawlinson's exploration of AI as an artistic tool provides a refreshing perspective on abstraction-création, challenging traditional boundaries while embracing the limitless possibilities of digital artistry. With each piece, he transports viewers to an enchanting landscape of vivid color, playful patterns, and organic, nature-inspired forms.

Poem:

In the glow of gilded domes agleam,

Where the wheels of time ignite their spark,

She stands, a relic of a bygone dream,

Gazing forth at dawn's impending arc.

She watches robots weave thoughts and steel,

In a choreography of code's own verse,

Where the line betwixt creator and creation

Is blurred in technology's harmonious curse.

We don ourselves in dreams' attire,

Forge bridges from lucid streams of data,

In a world where AI's breath infuses life

Into abodes we cherish, ever fonder.

Haiku:

Golden domes rise high,

Dreams of AI gently bloom,

New dawn, hope descends.

AI-driven Editing and Smart Cropping

Artificial Intelligence style packs are the latest trend that metamorphosizes an image into a piece from an art gallery museum. Mosaics, watercolors, oil paintings, and sketches are some of the effects that AI-driven editing offers. Pic Black is an app having a Smart Crop tool that smartly crops an object using AI techniques. Users can change the background and add something that they may like.

Glitch Effects

Glitches in images and videos are usually a big turn off. However, such an effect is also presented intentionally, which looks like there is some bug or corrupted signal. It has become a potential trend with Marquee and Wave tools. Instagram also came up with a “Chromatic Pulse” filter to highlight the craze.

Cinematic Effects

Cinematic filters give a film-look to ordinary photos. Different filters like Horror, Western, Action, and Romance, enhance the gradients and aesthetics. These effects help in creating a backstory for the images and hence are very perspective-oriented. So, a simple photo of leaves falling can turn out to be an autumn extravaganza for street and travel photos.

Dramatic and Minimalistic

Minimalist photography is still a popular trend when it comes to emphasizing a particular subject. Bright palettes and backgrounds define the surroundings, and the theme is isolated. Such images are used to create a calm and composed texture. Alternatively, dramatic landscapes are the exact opposite of minimalism. Images with brighter colors and high contrast replace the desaturated and underexposed ones.

Vertical and Candid

Users mostly see images on vertical screens, so vertical photos are one of the favorites for photographers. They convey comfort and yet exhibited at large platforms. Hence, the frame and composition perfectly suit for social uploads. On the other hand, candid photos are probably the most significant trend. They have replaced the portraits because of their capability of emoting authenticity. People want to look at something relatable and genuine. Now, spontaneity and uniqueness define street photos, fashion, and wedding photography.

Text-to-speech technology is a game-changer for dyslexic learners. Apps like Speechify enabling users to convert written content into audio format. Tools like Speechify allow individuals to scan books, import PDFs, and listen to text, significantly improving comprehension. Reach Speechify at www.descript.com/transcription

There are some concerns about using these AI tools with people who have special needs. It's important that people know there is an AI working in the background. But it is equally important to enable dyslexics an opportunity to engage through the use of technology such as AI tools.

As search results using Perplexity.ai suggested, "One such example is the use of speech recognition tools such as Co:Writer that can assist by suggesting words and phrases as users type, recognizing phonetic misspellings to enhance the writing experience. "

"These AI-driven solutions reduce the cognitive load associated with reading and writing tasks, allowing dyslexic individuals to focus on understanding and expressing ideas more effectively." These issues are well-documented by National Library of Medicine Case Studies at pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37748193/

This picture replaces the next slide. I was very unhappy with what happened to all the black tones in this picture, the team's tights and the coaches' shirts. They turned green and the noise (digital grain) was deafening! TOPAZ LABS has just introduced an AI-driven denoiser-sharpener-detailer-better-thingy so I'm trying it out. If you toggle between the two you should be able to see the difference, especially in the players' pants.

I am impressed and think I will buy the license. These pictures are all worst-case-scenario, with dreadful light, mixed tubes 40-feet off the ground, dim (ISO 10,000 anyone?), plus people running and jumping. Egads.
