After reading numerous bits of advice about water drop photography, I decided to try my hand at it. Over one hundred photos later, I found that I had captured this floral water drop as it headed for a splash landing. Although I've tried to replicate this exact experience, it will have to remain in my heart and mind. I suppose that is what is beautiful about life. Every event is rather special in its own way. It's interesting how photography can turn one into a philosopher.

After leaving Burrator on Thursday I head up to Great Staple Tor for sunset. The sky was looking great and there was some nice late afternoon light but in the end, the sun dipped below some low cloud and sunset was a bust.
I did manage to get a few shots while I was up there though so I'll be posting some of those over the week.

Charred tree trunks are all that remain after the forest fire destroyed the mountain forest.
Or, it's black and white sand shaped by tide and stream across the Highland beach. Ardnamurchan. I love it! If this isn't art, what is?
Today was the first day of Autumn, but it was very hot. When I went out today, my car registered 38˚!! We had a storm this afternoon, and this was the after effect. This photo was taken out the front, my place is on the left.
Para aqueles que seguem celebrando essa vida e para aqueles que desabrocham em uma outra existência.
For those who are celebrating this life and for those who are blooming in another one.

We camped at Kelso Dunes in Mojave National Preserve for a few days this past March. While we were there, the weather was changing the whole time. This shot is after it had rained and before the storm clouds had completely left. I was amazed at the difference between hiking in dry sand and wet sand.

Thanks everyone for your views, faves and comments! I really appreciate them!
The Whitman County Growers Silos set against the distant hills after a spring Storm momentarily opened during sunset. This was a wild day for me photographing the Palouse. Tornadoes, hailstorm, severe flash flooding but no rainbows. I waited two hours for this scene to unfold. Thankfully my patience was rewarded. Captured at Steptoe Butte, Washington.
We had some rare sunshine today, yay! A the moment the flood plains are filling both with water and with wild geese that were visibly enjoying the sun as well. Most of the birds here are greylags with the occasional Egyptian goose in between.
It was a bleak and dreary day on the Masai Mara. When the heavy, drenching rains suddenly stopped, the sun peeked through the low clouds. The entire landscape was soaked, in both the wet and the saturation of colors. A tiny baby African Elephant calf (Loxodonta) joined its mother on a stroll across the plains. The whole herd was just on the other side of a small rise. Was the mother returning to the herd after giving birth? Was the little family unit just rediscovering the herd after getting lost? We don't really know, but this brief moment of interaction between mother and calf suggested a dozen possible stories.
Photography is for me a way of representing reality through the heart and emotions.

After yesterday's torrential rain I won't have to do any deadheading for a while!! I feel so bad for all the poor people who are away on holiday this week, especially those who are camping!!!
Thanks for all the lovely comments and faves on my images. They are very much appreciated.
We had a sunflower of 4 metres tall, but after a storm it collapsed ... Well, at least I had a vase full of sunflowers afterwards!
Annnnd part two of "After Midnight". I wanted to stick to the one Kuji one Noah format, so i had to do a second picture even tho the one before was not so well received. I really struggled with motivation this time around so I hope it does not show and i hope that it gets better for the next pictures~ maybe you enjoy it anyways.
