Believe in your dreams, have goals that set you apart,

Trust in your spirit and always follow your heart.

Everyone had dreams and have obstacles that stand in the way. I wanted create an inspiring story of a young girl challenging those barriers. The heart shape base dictated the build's theme and this music box within a music box was born. Designing a messy girl’s room was fun with clothes, records, and books strewn across the floor. Minifig capes were used as tissue paper in the shoe box and as an article of clothing poking out of the dresser. Her stuffed animals (including a Duplo bear) cheer her on as she tries out new ballet slippers. Her favorite embroidered denim jacket pulled over a classic pink tutu and blowing bubbles as she spins pirouette about her room, she is much cooler and more confident than I ever was at that age.

I plan on touring this model over the summer and I would love to hear what you think of it.

Including a poorly molded 2x1 plate and a piece of string.

In addition, one 4x4 white plate and another 4x2 white plate were missing! I used LEGO pieces for them.

Definitely not partially inspired by Kerrigan from Starcraft.

These flamboyant swimmers move with fluid elegance like glistening jewels through a watery field of lilies. The epitome of grace and elegance, koi are as butterflies beneath the waves.

HIGH LORD OF THE SUMMER COURT.

(Feybruary series Pt. 3)

This is my third entry in a series of posts for the #Feybruary contest hosted by @bricksandfables over on Instagram! As one of the hosts, I will, of course, not be in the running, but I still wanted to participate in making some fun Fey! My series revolves around a reimagining of what High Fae Lords and Ladies might look like for the four seasonal courts. The third of these is the High Lord of the Summer Court!

The Summer Court is in many ways the opposite of the Winter Court. Where one sees quiet, whistling shimmergrass blowing in the wind, the other sees nefarious water sprites splashing in and out of the water around strong, trunk-like coral stalks which poke out of the surface. Where one is calm, cold, slow survival, the other is hot, combative, and exhausting. The creatures that dwell in the Summer Court are nothing short of hostile and short-fused. If one so much as looks at a glimmercrab the wrong way, they'll often find themselves on the receiving end of their impossibly strong pincers. Even the water itself is hardly any respite from the intense heat above, as many hydrothermal vents spew hot water and mineral deposits into the sea above them.

Presiding over this hostile environment is the ever-imposing High Lord of the Summer Court. A being renowned for his quick temper and retributive nature, the High Lord is feared by many of the denizens of his realm, as his wrathful outbreaks often leave devastation in their wake. As such, even the sponges and the coral spy for his Eminence, in an effort to appease him and spare them from his aggression. When the High Lord receives outsiders, however, he is surprisingly cool-headed. Though one perceived slight could change his demeanor entirely, and be the last words to ever leave an adventurer's mouth...

My modifications to LEGO's limited edition, gift-with-purchase, Sailboat Adventure. New prow, modified base, moved anchor, added navigation lights, and a pirate!

Looking for AFOLs willing to take a survey!

I'm an Assistant Professor at Xavier University working on a project about fans, digital media, and civic engagement. I'm looking for AFOLs who can tell me what it means to be a AFOL and how you got involved in the fandom.

If you're willing to help me out, go here to take the survey: xavier.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bshWj8HXknE2l01

Thanks!
