It took nearly four years (mostly due to a three-year hiatus in the middle), but I finally finished the interior of my custom City Hall
I made a Lego version of my Jeep, Sally! I will never take it apart. I just hope I don't drop it. The chassis underneath came from an old 1978 Lego set. It has working steering, turning engine, pistons that move up and down, working differential in the back, and working transmission with 2 gears. I made the engine, transmission, and steering assembly into modular sections that can be removed so you can watch them work independently, or repair them when something goes wrong. Then I finally got around to building a complete body (well, except for the roll cage). I made it to scale whenever possible and fudged it when it was not possible. There are no fancy modern custom parts or cheats here. The pieces are all vintage 1978 with a couple exceptions for the trim, such as the driving lights and parking lights, and the tailgate hinges. I spent a total of $0 on it, because I actually had all of these Legos sitting around from my childhood (and a few sets from my adulthood). Thanks Mom and Dad! I just noticed that the original set actually had a Jeep option that you could build. Mine looks a lot better though. lego.wikia.com/wiki/956_Auto_Chassis

I've been tagged and Ice Bucket challenged all in the same week. So why not kill 2 birds with one stone? Here's a few things you should know about me:
1.In the words of the Heidelberg Catechism: "I am not my own, but belong body and soul, in life and in death to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ."
2. I am blessed to be married for 10 years. Each year is better than the last.
3. I have 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl, and a 4th on the way, due next month.
4. I have the most awesome job in the world: I am a Youth Pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America. This picture is taken at our church with a few members of our Youth Group.
5. I am OLD. I am 34 years old and I've discovered these gray things coming out of my head. However, I don't think I've ever really grown up. I spend my time playing with my kids, hanging out with students, and building castles.
6. I've been building with Lego since I was about 5 years old. My best childhood memories were with King's Castle 6080 and Black Falcon's Fortress 6074.
7. Castle has always been my favorite theme, and probably always will be. Pirates are fun too, but Castle will always be the best.
8. I live in Amish Country, Pennsylvania, USA. Don't believe what you see in Amish Mafia and the other TV shows. Amish people are more normal than most people think. The other day I saw a bunch of Amish teenagers in a buggy with ground effect neon lights and loud dance music coming out of it. They went past our house at about 1 in the morning.
9. My biggest literary influences (other than the Bible) are: C. S. Lewis, G. K. (Gilbert Keith) Chesterton, and Tim Keller. And probably Tolkien too.
10. I really like spicy food. Mexican, Chinese, and Thai would be my favorites.
Inside House on Striped Pillars you find a shower room and sauna with a door and ladder leading down to the sea water.

One of the first whimsical designs I have created complete with garden and flower patch as well as a little waterfall to accentuate the piece.
I just expanded our storage system. I'm a little concerned, because my little boy can't reach the upper levels yet, but he typically just builds out of one drawer anyway, so it probably doesn't matter. We just broke down a lot of new sets, and there is a bunch of sorting left to do, as you can see. Also, you get a sneak preview of some works in progress... I'm sure you are all a-quiver!
-New quad, have to admit never used this color prolly cause I don’t have a whole bunch , just always trying to learn something ha.

Senior Ball - Class of '92 "Knights in White Satin" (Don't look at me, I didn't pick the theme)
I got Tagged by Lino!
Everyone's tag photo has been somewhat unique or out of the norm, and while I was back east with Family for Christmas, my mom found this tucked away in a drawer. I thought it was perfect.
If you're tagged on this photo, then it's your turn to post a photo of yourself, list some facts about yourself, and tag 10 more people. :)
Sooo.... I need ten facts most folks don't know about me, and to tag 10 more people.
1. My first job was working in a haunted house at the state fair. It was called the Dungeon of Doom, and was somewhat well known locally. My second day I scared a customer so bad he wet himself. It's one of my proudest moments
2. In high school I had long hair, and my senior year I grew a beard by accident. I quit shaving for a school play, and expected to just look scraggly. Four weeks later I had the beard you see above.
3. I'm an insomniac and have to take two Benadryl and several melatonin to get to sleep at night.
4. I was baptized Southern Baptist while living in Alaska, which is about as far from the south as you can go without a passport.
5. Celebrities I've met, include Mel Torme, Richard Sanders (WKRP), Mr Rogers, Steve Smith (Red Green), Jenny McCarhy, and Jim Self (The Tuba player who was the Mother Ship in Close Encounters of the Third Kind)
6. I'm a huge Beatles fan, thanks to an old friend from Jr High, Mike Kelly
7. I was a huge Elfquest fan, enough to start a local "Holt" way back when this photo was taken. Ellen, pictured above, became the leader of that Holt.
8. My favorite job ever was making Ice Cream for a living at a place called Hot Licks. I made between 120 and 150 gallons a day, and became fairly well known around town for it. Hot Licks was rated one of the 10 best ice cream parlors in the nation.
9. The largest fish I ever caught was a 77lb king salmon out of the Kenai River when I was 14.
10. I recently discovered that I like Sushi.
Recent Hong Kong public housing design tends to be modulated and monotonous. Let's recall our memories of childhood fun running around the public estate by bricks! Scenes like Chinese clinic, playground, corridors and metal gates are recreated. Occupation of corridor for decoration, while not allowed in Hong Kong, is somehow very common in Singapore.
