Internal/External dissconect

[Sound on] I finished my build for this month’s RLUG (Sacramento Brick Builders) challenge: Create a bouquet or skyscraper. So I made an animation of the Soilent Green flower shop. I hear the flower arrangements are quite edible… just not so many returning customers for some reason…

This was lots of fun to do and animate. I designed everything in Bricklink Studio and textured and animated using Cinema 4D with Octane and Greyscalegorilla Light Kit Pro 3. I finished the video in After Effects with my own vocal sound effects and a song by DapperChapMusic, composed by Michael Collings. All of this was possible because of the awesome computer from Puget Systems.

Hope you like it. “Soilent Green is LEGO minifigures!!!”

Blue is the old timer who started the RGB Moto Garage.

Small beach diorama. Made in May/2008. One of my early works as AFOL. And no, it wasn't supposed to be a nude beach. ;)

This is my interpretation of what part of an average AFOL/TFOL's room would look like. This Minifigure is not supposed to represent me or anyone else I know.

The experienced builder leaves the computer and turns on his camera.

These guys rock. The workshop was a great way to meet people from all over the world! There were actually 8-9 AFOLs there, though, which was a good number I think.

It took nearly four years (mostly due to a three-year hiatus in the middle), but I finally finished the interior of my custom City Hall

About 15 hours in and I have the rough layout of the ship along with a mostly finished front end. It's about 90 studs long at the moment. Once I finish off the fighting bay and add the engines, I'm estimating a final length of about 115 studs.

A 12 foot long replica of the Manhattan Bridge in New York City.

This is my first attempt at a Micropolis build, to be added to the collaborative at Brickfair Virginia this year. The building itself, despite its small size, is made of around 500 pieces (not including the base). The geometry is interesting, if you look at it all closely. The design was quite challenging. The hole in the base needed to place the building in, for example, is 19.5 plates square. That was more difficult to build than I imagined. There are three steps down from the road level, at a half plate each. Hope you enjoy.

I think LEGO did a great job with this set—it only takes a few bricks and some small cosmetic updates to make this look more screen-accurate without tearing the whole thing apart. Pros: the turret can now spin 360 degrees. Cons: the big top hatch can't open like this.
