This Memorial is home to the memory of over 20,000 airmen who died in WW2 and who have no grave. The cloister walls are lined with portland stone panels which bear the names of each of those men. One of those names is that of my uncle, Flying Officer Peter Manning DFC, who piloted Halifaxes for 405 Sqn. PFF (Pathfinders).
