I actually don't know the name for this pond but it was in the morning ;-) This was shot on the road to Red Rock Canyon in Waterton National Park, Canada.
For those interested, 'Crown of the Continent' is the title of an article in National Geographic this month about Glacier-Waterton. The link to the article is here.

Actually This is my 2nd experimental photo with candle light. I don't know how its looks like. Hopely your opinion will help me out to work with different composition.
This one actually makes me smile. I was out in a local town shooting a roll of film through a camera that I intended on selling just to make sure everything worked. There were some stairs going up to a parking lot on top of a building and I was looking at the stairs to see if there was a picture there to be had when these two young lads bustled past on their way up the stairs. They had noticed my camera and when they got to the top of the stairs one of them turned around and shouted down - did I want to take his picture. I laughed and said sure and he gave me that pose and "attitude" before laughing and running off.

Actually... this is the way I like poodles... kinda of grown out. She's adorable! This is 5 year old Zoey. She's full of personality! She's also a killer ball retriever. She's a new client and lives with a giant airdale named Cody. I'm having a lot of fun with both!
The first thing I saw going back to work in Bristol today.....the gun is actually perched on top of a pedestrian crossing request post thingy.......(no idea what they're called!!) Handheld while in the passenger seat of a van, quick edit in Snapseed.
Actually, no-one waiting.

Actually the first Burr Truss covered bridge in Lehigh Valley that my sweet west coast damsel and I ventured to that October day last fall, ironic that it’s image would be the last of the three Burr Truss covered bridges that I post, located in Northampton Pennsylvania is the Kreidersville Covered Bridge, built back in 1839 over the Hokendauqua Creek. In 1959 a grass roots movements by the local citizens recognizing the historical significance of the vanishing covered bridges when the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation State Highway Department wanted to knock down the bridge replace it with a concrete bridge, banded together to save the 116 foot long Hummel's - Koch's - Solt's Bridge as it was then known, named after the families that resided near the bridge and organized & formed the ‘The Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society of Pennsylvania’ named after the gentlemen whose patented truss design was used in the construction of this bridge and actually the other two which my west coast damsel and I visited on that day. The state has 250 of the remaining 1500 covered bridges left in the United States.

Actually it looks like a broccoli/cauliflower hybrid, writ large.
I asked around for answers as to what this is called.
Mary says “Crepe myrtle.”
Tom says: Melaleuca linariifolia. Also known as Paperbark or "snow in summer" tree. www.marinatreeandgarden.org/treelist/melaleuca_l.html
Actually taken by my glamorous assistant: David Fryer-Winder, on my instruction with focus/framing. Take a look at his stream if you get chance:)
Taken climbing on a haystack on a friends farm.
Actually managed a day out with my camera today, and had the chance to tick 2 locations off my ever-growing bucket list. This beautiful old abandoned church really tickled me, with the oak tree growing up through the middle. Unfortunately we were plagued with very harsh sunlight today, so a return trip is on the cards....;-)
Is there actually anyone who has not seen this 1963 movie. It stared Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn and the Theme was by Henry Mancini. I think it is one of the best Romantic Comedy ever made.
Actually, I now believe this may be a Yellow Warbler. Due to two great Flikrites I actually did some looking in my bird book and came up with my best guess. I do at least know that it is not a Goldfinch. Cute though.
I actually took this (and a few other ornaments) to the beach but it was so overcast that I decided not to take photos. So they got a trip out, and a walk along the beach.
When I got back to town it was nicer, so I went to a park and had a little photo shoot there instead :-)
So I looked through my photostream today and saw how many beach related photos I've got. And at least a quarter of the 'non-beach related' ones actually were taken on the way too, from, or next to, a beach!
All these lovely little purple shells were found and carefully collected by me at Himatangi beach, NZ.
Another couple of shots of these purple shells

That's actually the old Erlangen Palace in the background, now serving as the university administration building. And the horses are part of a children's carousel or merry-go-round at the central Erlangen Christmas Market. I got the shot on one of those rare November days when the sun was shining. People are not actually allowed to get into Laguna Cejar's waters.
Instead, tour agency took us to the adjacent Laguna Piedra, where we could brave the high altitude cold and get into the lukewarm water. We found a current of warm water (heated by the thermal springs), it was actually not uncomfortable.

These ponds have a very high salt content, about 33%, far above what we find in the sea, so when entering the water in the water you do not have to make the minimum effort to float. It's the same thing that happens in the Dead Sea, the giant saltwater lake in the Middle East.
You can enter this pond even if you can not swim, as soon as your body is in the water, you will already be floating. In ponds like this you should not dive headfirst. It is also good to avoid wetting the face, especially the eyes and mouth, due to excess salt that can be harmful.
The water in the pond is cold and hot, and this causes some people to give up bathing in it. We go in and we can ensure that after a few seconds in the water you get used to it and the temperature difference is no longer a nuisance.
The bath is refreshing, especially if you are doing a very hot afternoon like the one on the day of our tour. And the float makes the bath more fun and also relaxing, as we do not have to make any effort to stay in the water.
Despite its name, the Marsh Tit is actually found in our woodlands, parks and gardens. The Marsh tit is very similar to the Willow Tit in looks and size. It was only discovered in 1897 by ornithologists that the Marsh & Willow Tits were in fact two separate species.
Well I actually bought two gerbera daisies yesterday. The orange one posted prior and this red one. Of course with a hundred or so ladybugs flying around, I took several shots. I chose to put this ladybug on the flower because she has no spots on her back shell. Haven't seen many of those. She dares to be different. ;)
I added Soulful Action- BerriesNCream- 30% opacity.
EXPLORE #446
Actually, there were several rocks which had been spray painted by city power crews. Sorted through them to find the one I liked the most, because that's the sort of idiotic stuff you do for Iron Photographer. Right?
I actually lucked into an NS heritage unit operating on track of which it represents. Here the 8099 leads a loaded coal train toward East St Louis on the former Southern Ry western extension. The coal is taking a convoluted route west from a mine near Princeton, Indiana to East St Louis where it went north and east to Bellevue, Ohio where it was sent south and east to the tidewater port at Lambert's Point, Virginia.
Little Two-spotted Ladybird (Diomus notescens)
I see lots of these in the garden but they are always running. This one stopped for a millisecond so I got the shot.
They are 2.5 mm in length (maximum) and whilst they look black they are actually a very dark green with the orange spot on either side.
Actually it no longer acts as a train station. It now is a meeting venue, a hotel, and has other attractions, in Saint Louis, MO. USA
We actually just wanted to watch a movie and order something to eat, but then someone started taking off their pants... maybe it was me... but it's just more comfortable without pants :P and beside how i can resist my pretty cute Latisha♥

Actually, it is a church at the end of a DOUBLE rainbow at the end of a rain storm at the end of the day. The rainbow missed the water tower on its other side.
This panoramic shot is stitched together from three shots and then cropped. My 20mm lens is pretty wide but this was an ultra wide scene.
Actually a pre-dawn shot from the beach at the Gibson Steps in Victoria, Australia. In the centre is one of the Twelve Apostles - either Gog or Magog.
On the left of the sea stack is the Milky Way rising. The southern cross is visible to the left of the Coalsack. Directly above the sea stack is the Large Magellanic Cloud and to the right is Canopus, the second brightest star in the sky. The Small Magellanic Cloud is visible between the sea stack and Canopus.
Actually you can get a 500L$ Giftcard at Addams 7th Birthday, so dont miss it out!

Actually I don't think this is a wetland or a swamp. It's just a few old boggy areas right off a hiking/biking trail called Lost Valley here in St. Charles County. I just love the obvious old age of the trees in this area. & although the water has this algae, or whatever it is atop it, the water is actually clear, which just adds to the beauty of this awesome place. Not to mention how much I love a late winter landscape & these skies.
Eugene actually had his birthday yesterday so I am catching up. Here he is in his usual glory in the middle of the pouring rain that was Riot Fest last year.

I was actually drawn to this tree branch by its shape and the delicate plant (some sort of vine or creeper?) encircling it. So I just had to sit there - focus on the interesting bit of the branch and wait for a bird to land on it.
Male Green Honeycreeper.
Taken at the edge of the rain forest, Costa Rica.
This is actually the first time I directly upload from the Instagram account to Flickr. The Instagram account www.instagram.com/petterphoto/ is cell phone photography only, however (as you know) a picture should never be judged by the camera. I should note that there is no Photoshop trick in this image, it is the way it happened in the hour of long shadows.
......actually there are 5 babies on board, 2 are hidden, the remaining 2 had to follow on behind. E-M1-MKII/100-400mm.

Actually Im not sure when Im not in the mood for stripes? They are my very favoritist and a staple of my own actual wardrobe :P
I actually fulfilled an ambition ? aspiration ? I had to get some Gulls or preferably some wading bird shots by the sea... Not to copy but emulate a poster type picture I have in my kitchen. I love the picture and won't be taking it down but all my downstairs rooms are coastal themed including my conservatory (tiny lean too but it fits an Ikea Ektorp sofa and a couple of chairs so it will do ) I got plenty of Gull shots and one very similar to what I had hoped to get but I have to say my hand holding technique isn't great and I had to shoot on continuous H to get anything sharp - where I wished it sharp that is.......
The main thing is, I DID it and enjoyed myself.
There is always something along our much maligned beach but it's close to home as I said before - plus I never saw another photographer yet in all the years we've been going so I'm more relaxed when having a go.. Sue :)
