Actually, not; taken at a local lake, but the dark background makes me think it could have been in a studio. Great Egret.
actually, this is a ceiling reflection - just looking upwards, seeing the lines and people moving...
Actually we didn't even leave the driveway. I would never drive with my windows open while a dog was in the car. I have seen too many dogs who have jumped out and gotten hurt.
We have company and I just didn't have time to figure out a photo or take Minty someplace. So we used an old idea from Della and Tug's albums.
Last weekend I took a short trip around the state of Oregon. Well, actually it was a long trip, but short on time. I traveled almost 800 miles from Friday evening through to Saturday night. As I planned the trip, I wanted to make sure to hit as much of the coast as possible as well as Crater Lake. I finally determined that the best alternative was to hit the coast on the way back allowing me to catch night and sunrise shots on Crater Lake, so that left finding something suitable on the way out. During this effort, I received a suggestion to stop at Smith Rock which not only provided a great scene but also worked out perfectly for catching Friday's sunset. The only bummer was passing all the great scenes with no time to stop, but the end result more than made up for it. For those unfamiliar, Smith Rock State Park is just north of Redmond, Oregon and about 20 miles north of Bend. It's considered by many to be the rock climbing Mecca of the west.
I got to the area about 1/2 hour before sunset and had a planned vantage in the park thanks to TPE. However, pulling up I decided to call an audible for a couple reasons. First, the rock is much bigger than I thought and a shot from the park would be too close. Second, as I was approaching the park I passed a spot off the side of the road that provided an interesting foreground as well as an elevated view of the rock. The sunset that day would have been perfect if not for the mountains to the west being socked in which ended the sunset artificially early. I wasn't complaining though, considering I had just about an hour to find and shoot this landmark, I came away pretty lucky!
Actually there are too much things to write about it but this photo already tells you everything...
The angels left our world long time ago because we had lost our humanity...
We had forgotten our brotherhood with our endless selfish benefits...
We divided the world into borders with blood and endless wars... Unfortunately today our world is quickly dragging into a very big global disaster...
Nun ist also tatsächlich auch noch bei uns der Winter mit Schnee eingekehrt. Aktuell schneit es und es ist zumindest heute kein Ende des Schneefalls abzusehen. Mal sehen wieviel Schnee es werden wird ...
So now winter has actually arrived here with snow. It is currently snowing and there is no end to the snowfall in sight, at least today. Let's see how much snow there will be ...
What a long, fun, but exhausting day. Today marks the second Dunkxchange (DXC) of this year. I decided to actually enjoy myself more this time event rather than selling or buying. Although their were a few shoes I wanted, I didn't really bother as much since Brandon told me my shoes were waiting at his place that I have been waiting for the longest. For the most part spent my time chilling and helping Brandon and Val help sell their stuff. Saw familiar faces as well new faces, of course you guys and gals know who you are. Some supporters told me they appreciated my work and that is always appreciated no matter what. The event was held at a new location as well as Jesse and Bigfoot doing a live piece. The place had better lighting and was bigger. Can't wait for the next event, hopefully, it's at the same location.
Afterwards, decided to leave around 3 in the afternoon to check out Cherry Blossom Festival. For the last few years I have been missing out due to work. The weather overall was overcast and windy. Since Mindy and me got there somewhat late, most of the food stalls were sold out. They also added more seating areas to eat and enjoy yourselves, which is good. Since DXC was coming to an end, we got a call from Jenn asking if we wanted to have a post DXC dinner and of course we decided to tag along. We ate at Bull Head, which was next to West Portal station. Afterwards, decided to go home since my head was hurting and I was tired. Overall a great way to end my weekend.

I've decided to move to mesh for modelling from now on. Because when you're that one lumpy system guy amongst the sleek... yeah. It's not a good look, and I've always prided myself with being the best I can be at this game. Let me call it levelling up to myself in desperate assurance and be done with it, okay?
Plus, look how well I can wear lipstick now!! Look Ma, no bleeds!
I'm casting to join .PENUMBRA. which I have wanted to do for a long time. They asked for a headshot as part of the application package so I snapped then messed around with this for a bit. YES I ACTUALLY PROCESSED A PICTURE DON'T DIE OF SHOCK. I was happy with the bling bling action that I got even on my teeth - my fangs are retracted when I model because I'm totally a professional, like don't even ask - so I decided to post it.
Special thanks for this goes to my loving and patient wife Magenta. She knows why.
I actually quite like this one. It started off being inspired by That 70's Show titles, but when I photographed through the windscreen the reflection of the clouds was too much and you couldn't see me. Worked out for the better though I prefer this.
I love that its like winter again :) However I don't love that the wind blew my tripod over whilst my camera was still on it. Cameras ok though, but still.
Actually it would have got busier after we left. This place is great.
Spencer is chatting to Vicks. In red... I like the grain, especially on the pillars and ceiling. After this we went off to Victoria Park to watch some fireworks.

Actually: don't, because it is a vertical wall painting, called "Optical Glade" (2017) by Stanley Donwood at the remarkable tower that is the heart of Bonnefantenmuseum (1995, Aldo Rossi) In Maastricht, The Netherlands.
Actually... I wanted to name this picture... "Sweeping the dust off my stream" :D:D:D:D But that didn't quite sound very caption-ish. :D:D:D:D
See you soon friends... at your sets... not mine. :D
Credit for this portrait actually goes to my friends who firstly discovered him in the bar we were at in Soho and secondly for persuading me to put down my drink and approach him.
I was out for drinks for a friends birthday and decided to take my camera with me and head out a little earlier in the hope of finding a stranger. To be honest my heart wasn't completely in it as I have a concept in mind that I want to try out but was struggling to find someone suitable.
So I gave up and joined my friends for a catch up. When they first pointed Rocky out to me I knew he would be a cracking stranger, but I wanted to take a great portrait of Rocky and not just a snapshot. After debating it in my head I decided to try outside even though we were beginning to lose light. I took my friend Elena out with me to see if we could find a suitable location which wasn't full of people drinking (it was a lovely evening in London). I was specifically looking for either a plane background or just some colour that would match with him, and i found it.
Rocky was out with clients but when I approached him he readily agreed. I took him to my chosen location, got him positioned with a reflector and took out a few shots which I came out nicely.
Rocky is part of the family fashion brand Year Zero London (www.yearzerolondon.com) and it looks like it has had some very famous visitors in the past. He is Italian although i honestly thought he could be Indian at first. I told him that I had forgotten all my Italian... in Italian. I didn't want to keep him from his clients too long so we both went back to the bar and rejoined our tables.
As we were finishing up in the bar, I thanked Rocky once again and he cheekily said about using the magic of photoshop to make him look good. Well Rocky apart from a few flyaway hairs there wasn't much to do, you looked awesome already.
Thanks for being a part of my project Rocky. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the

Monument Valley is often thought to be US national park, but while its beauty certainly would qualify it for such distinction it is actually a Navajo Nation Tribal Park. It is located at the northern Arizona border with Utah. This photo was taken just outside of the tribal owned View Hotel. The area is a famous setting for numerous western themed movies.
I have previously posted a similar photo that was an HDR taken with my 14-24 mm lens and not stitched. I do like this version better as I think there is much better detail. We were so lucky with the summer cloud formations and their location within the photo. Note the vehicles on the foreground road to provide some size perspective.

Actually, I think they are watching me. The doves were opposite our kitchen window, and a few "2-bird portraits" were possible before they flew off.
The Panasonic FZ35 is 2009 technology. It has a great lens and is OK to ISO 400. Happy birding to all; this is a glorious time of year
I actually dont have any of he Monster high Boys, I once had Deuce but he was too sexy to stay (After I gave him a beautiful New hairdo)
So I was excited to actually LOVE this MH Boy! And I think Kohl was even more Excited then me, he very much Missed the Piggybacks he would get from Deuce :P
These are actually Ring-necked Parakeets aka Rose-ringed Parakeets (Psittacula krameri), though they are quite closely related to Lovebirds: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/50943147766/in/photolist
In Britain, breeding was first proved in 1971 in Kent though it was suspected a year or two prior to this. Despite rumours involving Jimi Hendrix and Humphrey Bogart, there is no evidence that either had anything to do with their introduction to Britain. Paul Dunham mentions below about mass escapes in the 1970s involving more than a thousand birds when they pecked their way out of wooden holding crates. The population increased ten fold in Britain between 1995 and 2010 and is now well-established in south-east England (centred on London) with a population around 12,000 pairs, but there are scattered breeding populations elsewhere. The English population is the most northerly breeding parrot species on the planet, and this breeding pair in South Yorkshire are currently one of the most northerly in Britain. Abroad they breed in both Asia and Africa, and biometrics suggest that British birds are from the larger Indian subspecies borealis, though this was not conclusive. The scientific name Psittacula krameri commemorates the Austrian naturalist Wilhelm Kramer. It was named by Johannes Scopoli in 1769, four years after Kramer's death and was originally known as Kramer's Parakeet.
I photographed this mating pair this morning near Barnsley. There were two pairs present and they were going in and out of holes in some dead trees. These are the first birds I have seen in Yorkshire.

Not actually 1924, the buildings would have been in a better condition, but 21/10/2024 and one of Wick's less loved streets, despite it being the main route away from the very nice Mackays Hotel. Union Street, very much part of Wick's 'conservation area' basically is rotting away slowly. There are a couple of thriving businesses on the street and some residential properties, but this particular row of terraced housing just adds to the feeling of desolation in the area.
I was actually embarrassed to be seen with my camera this day after seeing a group of 5-6 birders/photographers far ahead of me walking about 20 feet apart herding these birds down the beach. It seemed that whenever the Bluebirds landed the photographers started to circle around them and the birds were pushed further along the beach. We all make the mistake of getting to close and flushing the birds at times but this was ongoing, apparently the photos were more important than the birds having a chance to feed. I turned away from the beach and went in search of other birds. Later in the day I returned to the beach. Upon seeing the bluebirds again I got a bit closer then planted myself down in the sand; I was rewarded when (see next photos) this bird landed only about 10 feet in front of me.
They actually are the siblings of our doggie, nearly 4 years old now. They have great affection for each other just like we owners do.
This was actually the last shot of the day, and the best of this red dragonfly. I had finally just sat down in the sun, on the bank of the pond. It was hot and humid, and sweat was running in my eyes. I started to talk to him, as he kept flitting by me. "Come on dude, give me a little break here; I'm not gonna hurtcha."
I need to work on my dragonfly whispering, moreover, I need a better lens for these shots. This is heavily cropped and slightly sharpened, but I'm still really proud of the capture especially of the color. They seriously glow like a reflector as they fly through the sunlight! They're like a tiny flourescent highway cone as they buzz by you. This is a bit more subtle due to that grass shadow on the tail. I like the deep color of the eyes and the little lights on the wings. Not a "Great" shot, but I'm out there, and I'm trying, and any decent dragonfly shot is a thrill for me. Thanks for viewing! =o) ***All rights to my images are STRICTLY reserved. Actually, no.
After traipsing around likely local areas by a canal I returned to the back garden for a barbecue chimney starter with not as much rust as you might imagine from this intriguing square centimetre or so.

Actually, this fire was in 2011. While fire is scary to humans and the things we build, it leaves beauty in it's wake.
Actually this man is not being lazy, he has to have enough rest to continue riding. Falling to sleep riding a bike can be fatal. I caught this "biker"/ "kapcai" taking a nap underneath some shades at the Padang Kota promenade - enjoying the balmy sea breeze.
Actually at the lake and getting closer to sunset here. I really feel that I should have set my tripod up a little higher for this photo, but I still like how the composition shows the rocks building in to the sweeping shoreline.
The next photo I'll be uploading is my favorite of the night, so keep watching my stream!
Thanks to everyone who recommended tripod legs to me in the comments of my last photo. I get my new ballhead tomorrow, which will have to sit and taunt me until the legs arrive on Monday.
Actually, Mr. 217 was with a partner. When the couple enjoyed walking around snow field, another couple flew from nowhere. These two couples looked friendly. I was surprised because I heard that Red-crowned cranes defend pair's territory. Does the instinct occur only in breeding season?

I actually remember eating the leaves from our garden when I was a kid! They tested a bit spicy!
Lastours (Occitan: Las Tors) is a commune in the Aude department in southern France. Population in 2008, 165.
Lastours is located 12 km (7.5 mi) outside Carcassonne, in the valley of the Orbiel. There are four small castles each built on a large 300 m high rocky ridge. The castles were built to control the access to Montagne Noire and the Cabardes region. These are some of the few original Cathar castles left.
