Since the baby girl has started playing cards more, we seem to have an abundance of cards and other games in the house.
I'm not complaining - it's nice to see her excited about card and board games. These are two packs we have bought to make rummy a little bit harder (and to stop her from winning all the time).

November 13th 1978 was Chet Selwood's 21st birthday and I'd no money left to buy him a card. The little bugger had been relieving me of all my dosh on a regular basis; thrashing me at Backgammon, Poker, Roulette, Pontoon and various other 'friendly' games. Even the slot machines down the pub seemed to be on Chet's side as well as the good-looking girls. Thanks mate!

Another one of those days with no photo ideas. At least there's FGR for inspiration!
For FGR invades Playing Cards
and NGWC
the assignment was to create a garment entirely out of anything that isn't fabric or fabric-like. I chose playing cards, obviously.
This dress is now on display at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum in Hollywood, CA.
My favorite song at the moment....
If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, it makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed
The only card I need is
The Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades
Playing for the high one, dicing with the devil
Going with the flow, it's all a game to me
Seven or eleven, snake eyes watchin' you
Double up or quit, double stakes or split
The Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades
You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools
But that's the way I like it baby, I don't wanna live forever
And don't forget the Joker
Pushing up the ante, I know you wanna see me
Read'em and weep, the dead man's hand again
I see it in your eyes, take one look and die
The only thing you see, You know it's gonna be
The Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades

Lighting on this included one flash from camera right, with a honeycomb attached to concentrate the light. Another flash was setup behind the scene, about 3 meters away from the guitar, and pointing at the flash. On this flash was a home made snoot, and a primary blue gel. Took a bit to make sure I had the angle right such that the light was filtering in from more or less a point, but also it looks a bit like there is some fog.
