Part of the 52 Weeks of 2017
Week 24
Theme: Spades (part 2 of 4)
Continuing the series on the 4 card suits (♦, ♠, ♣ and ♥).
"Suits in Nature". The aim is to continue in a similar style over the year. The last shot was 'diamonds' (see photo in comments) and this time it was spades. I got out of the city and went to a recently discovered nature reserve and spent the morning looking for a suitable spot. Once I found that the whole place was covered with bits of flint, the hard rock link was sealed and it was obvious that The Ace of Spades had to be the card of choice. This particular rock also has a slight resemblance to a spade symbol.

"If you like to gamble, I tell you I'm your man
You win some, lose some, it's all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, it makes no difference what you say
I don't share your greed, the only card I need is
The Ace Of Spades"

Its been 11 years since Diana Princess of Wales (so called the Queen of Hearts)
died in Paris; it was the end of summer and at the time the world stopped.
This is my tribute to a great woman, a humanitarian ... its blue because it was her favourite colour. Let's us remember the many good causes she embraced.

Re-visit Changi Boardwalk with one of my buddies yesterday late evening. Can't wait to process and upload the photo. This is one of the photo (+2 EV) suppose to use for HDR but see what i'd done to it.
1. Gaussian blur 2. Remove the 'divider' between the sea and sky 3. Add vignette effect.
It doesn't look good/attractive in thumbnail, but i wish you like it when view in normal size :P
"Only way to feel the noise is when it's good and loud
So good you can't believe it screamin' with the crowd !"

What is considered the dead man's hand card combination of today gets its notoriety from a legend that it was the five-card stud hand held by James Butler Hickok (better known as "Wild Bill" Hickok) when he was shot in the back of the head by Jack McCall on August 2, 1876, in Nuttal & Mann's Saloon at Deadwood, Dakota Territory. Reportedly, Hickok's final hand included the aces and eights of both black suits.
According to a book by Western historian Carl W. Breihan, the cards were retrieved from the floor by a man named Neil Christy, who then passed them on to his son. The son, in turn, told Mr. Breihan of the composition of the hand. "Here is an exact identity of these cards as told to me by Christy's son: the ace of diamonds with a heel mark on it; the ace of clubs; the two black eights, clubs and spades, and the queen of hearts with a small drop of Hickok's blood on it

For Flickr Group roulette and today's challenge of Playing cards there was only one idea in my head...I had a little interruption mid shoot, and had to work with what I had taken, wanted better (as always!)
