Acers are usually red, green or yellow. There are different shades of red from pink to dark red - almost black, you may find any color between pure yellow and pure green, and some may have several colors in the same tree.
This is something new: Bronze/golden. This is the real color of the Chitoseyama variety, at least for the first leaves in the early June, in Norway. I will put out new photos when it becomes larger and if the colors change.
I have adjusted exposure and contrast, but I have not adjusted the colors.

Shantung Maple, Shandong Maple, or Purpleblow Maple is a maple native to northern China & North Korea. USDA Zone 4. Grown from seed by Jon Genereaux (MSU) on 9/9/2009. Still alive in 2013, just barely. Looking good in 2017.
