Acer pseudoplatanus, known as the Sycamore in the United Kingdom and the Sycamore Maple in the United States.

Acers are one of my favourite trees. They have so much interest from the shape of the leaves to the wonderful changes colours through the seasons. I captured these ones during Spring as they were on the turn to their Summer colour

We planted these 2 magnificent acers (maples) about 14 years ago... They are now sky high and look so wonderful in the Spring sunshine. My absolute favourite trees ❤

I had a few backlit images ready to choose from for Smile on Saturday, including this shot of our acer in the garden.

When I checked the challenge, I found that the subject had to be white!

So here is one of my non-entries for Smile on Saturday this week - maybe you are smiling!

It is that time of the year that the Acer having sat in the corner between the house and the fence turns it's leaves from green to a bright orange /red before throwing them all on the floor !!

Acer Palmatum or Japanese Maple is sometimes described as a tree and sometimes as a shrub/plant - to me they are small trees albeit ones like this a semi Bonsai Tree . This one may be in a pot but it has a place in the garden ( but not where the photo is taken ) . I have always liked to see Bonsai Trees , but their care can be challenging which is why I tried collecting Cacti & Succulents instead for quite a few years .

An Acer leaf, soaked with soda after being hydrolized by vinegar, directly printed on an exposed photo paper (by Paterson, 18X24cm, 30 years old, expired).

The nice autumnal colours at Normanby Country Park. This Acer tree really comes into colour during the season when nature puts on the final flurry of colour each year.

I'm guessing this is an acer tree, a giveaway being the lovely autumn colours that the acer family show in October. Red, yellows and everything in between at this English country park.

It's that garden Acer again.

Beautiful beauty at Westonbirt this time of year

Where on earth the blue came from this, I've no idea, so I've saved the original to use again. Its an Acer that grows in my garden

For Scarlet Sunday, the next in my imaginatively titled series. They don't come much more scarlet than this little acer at this time of year.

I haven't been around much for a few days - been busy - so apologies for the lack of commenting. I should be able to catch up tomorrow.

The Ace Cafe is an old transport cafe located near Wembley, North West London, England. Situated next to the North Circular Road, it is historically a notable venue in motorcycle culture. The original cafe opened in 1938 and closed in 1969. It re-opened on the original site in 1997 as a cafe, functions, and entertainment venue

I came across this simple image while walking around Virginia Water Ornamental Gardens, which is near Heathrow in November. It's a wonderful place to go with your camera, but it does get busy.

Thank you for looking, and I hope you like my image

“Aces are larger than life and greater than mountains.”

(Mike Caro)

Meaning: just as mountains are massive and imposing, aces are similarly impressive in their ability to dominate and control the game.

Yup , the Acer Palmatum is starting to unravel it's leaves as it comes back to life . It has been doing this for well over 20 years , it has not grown too much as it lives in a pot , but still not bad for a twig from a supermarket for a couple of quid !!
