Always nice when you start a gray day on the road, and you drive along a lake, the sky opens up, and you see this!.
Norway, a stunningly beautiful country. Around every corner a chance for a scenic image, forcing me from time to time to stop every kilometer to get out of my car, sometimes with screeching brakes, and sometimes forcing me to curse because there was no place to stop.
Lovely valleys, bare mountains and cold winds, snow packs, glaciers, beautiful lakes, and then there are the enchanting fjords that never stop to amaze. The most beautiful country of Europe, for me no doubt about that, with only one minor aspect, which is the weather. During my month of traveling I only had 4 really nice days, the rest of the time clouds, rain, and very changeable! Still no regret, and I will go back to make even more than the 3500 pictures that I took this time.
Another very active vacation that took me to the south west up to Trondheim in a sort of triangle between Oslo- trondheim and Bergen with the whole route visible here (www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153668247101759&set...).
As soon as I saw this week's theme an image came into my mind. It was taken in March 2011 and has been uploaded before, but I have reprocessed it today for the group. Ishmael got left behind when the rest of us went through a gate, I turned around and this is what I saw - HSoS!
I can't stop thinking about you
You're on my mind, all the time
I can't stop thinking about you
I say I'm fine, but that's a lie
Are you thinking about me, too?
Too?
Are you thinking about me, too?
Too?
'Cause I can't stop
This little beauty is found high up in the Andes of Ecuador at an elevation of about 13000 feet. He is beautiful but his beauty is really appreciated when he turns and shows his many colors on his back. Thus his name Shining Sunbeam. We were thrilled to see him and even more thrilled that he showed us his beautiful colors.
Wishing you a wonderful and blessed Tuesday !!!

I just about this great egret in breeding plumage landing beside me because I was so focused on a different bird.
The great egrets wingspan is close to 1.7 metres accross.
This photo was taken at Orlando Wetlands on a sunny, warm spring day.
One interesting fact about this bird is that In mixed-species colonies, Great Egrets are often the first species to arrive, and their presence may induce nesting among other species.

A dragon poem about mental health and the power of love. ❤
"In the silent chambers of my mind,
where shadows whisper, and fears unwind,
I tread the path of endless night,
seeking solace, a glimmer of light.
Amidst the chaos, a fragile heart,
beats with hope, though torn apart.
Whispers of doubt, a constant friend,
yet through this darkness, I ascend.
In the depths, where sorrow lies,
I hear the echoes of my cries.
Yet within these walls, a seed does grow,
a testament to all I've known.
Through trials faced and battles fought,
a lesson learned, a wisdom sought.
Each tear shed, a story told,
of strength unseen, of courage bold.
And as I rise from shadows deep,
a promise made, a vow to keep.
To cherish love, both given and received,
in its embrace, I am relieved.
For in the heart where love does reign,
it heals the wounds, it soothes the pain.
A beacon bright, a guiding star,
reminding me of who we are.
Together, we can face the night,
with love as armor, shining bright.
For in the end, through love's pure light,
we find our strength, our wings for flight.
So let us weave this tale anew,
of mental battles, we've fought through.
Triumphant hearts, with love's embrace,
together, in Evermore we find our sacred place."

Sometimes it takes luck to match a good picture with a poem and thanks for the Cica Ghost's art I did it. Such a beautiful place.

It is snowing the whole day. Though it is not very cold, only about 0 ° C, the snow stays.
Es schneit schon den ganzen Tag. Obwohl es nur um 0 ° C herum ist, bleibt der Schnee liegen.
From about 7am there were about 30 Jackdaws making such a noise flying over & around my house. According to my neighbour he could see them trying to chase off a Sparrowhawk that had taken one of the "family". The noise eventually stopped & nearly 2 hours later my husband noticed the Sparrowhawk in our garden devouring the bird.
We could only take photos through the window as we did not wish to scare it away & as we clicked it kept turning its head towards the house looking for the source of the noise. It stayed about 30 mins & then flew off with the remains of breakfast in its claws.

Sorry for all of you who may have already viewed several photos taken by Richard, he's just faster at editing or could it be more spare time.😉
This House Wren has brought back some nesting materials and is looking up where it's nest is, about to take the final leap there.
Taken 15 May 2017 at Magee Marsh, Ohio.

This one is about 1,5 centimeter.

The common toad, European toad, Euro toad, is an amphibian found throughout most of Europe (with the exception of Ireland, Iceland, and some Mediterranean islands), in the western part of North Asia, and in a small portion of Northwest Africa. It is one of a group of closely related animals that are descended from a common ancestral line of toads and which form a species complex. The toad is an inconspicuous animal as it usually lies hidden during the day. It becomes active at dusk and spends the night hunting for the invertebrates on which it feeds. It moves with a slow, ungainly walk or short jumps, and has greyish-brown skin covered with wart-like lumps.
Although toads are usually solitary animals, in the breeding season, large numbers of toads converge on certain breeding ponds, where the males compete to mate with the females. Eggs are laid in gelatinous strings in the water and later hatch out into tadpoles. After several months of growth and development, these sprout limbs and undergo metamorphosis into tiny toads. The juveniles emerge from the water and remain largely terrestrial for the rest of their lives.
The common toad seems to be in decline in part of its range, but overall is listed as being of "least concern" in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. It is threatened by habitat loss, especially by drainage of its breeding sites, and some toads get killed on the roads as they make their annual migrations. It has long been associated in popular culture and literature with witchcraft.
After crossing the hiway up the hill, and all the photographers scrambling up there to take pictures, Mother Grizzly ran down the hill right by me. I was standing by the car so about this time I was grabbing for the door handle.
About an hour after sunset the orange glow of the sun is still visible over the Jordanelle Reservoir.

About 2,000 miles north of the spot where we found the Green Jay posted yesterday. This fascinating bird was singing and foraging along a stream in Jasper National Park, Alberta.
I'd be hard pressed to post two more dissimilar birds next to each other. Dissimilar in appearance, diet and habitat.
From the Audubon website:
"This distinctive bird is locally common along rushing streams in the West, especially in high mountains. It is usually seen bobbing up and down on a rock in mid-stream, or flying low over the water, following the winding course of a creek rather than taking overland shortcuts. The song and callnotes of the Dipper are loud, audible above the roar of the water.
Most food is caught underwater. The Dipper may walk with only its head submerged, or may dive, "flying" underwater and walking on the bottom, probing under stones in streambed. Also will swim on surface to pick up floating insects. Occasionally takes insects from streamside rocks, rarely makes short flights to catch insects in mid-air."
Looking behind me on Cresswell beach Northumberland. Looking the other way it was a stunningly beautiful day!

Awakened about 0600, looked out the window and saw clouds. I think we had some rain during the night. Made coffee, grabbed the camera and went to the roof to wait for sunrise.
I thought nothing much was going to develop. Almost half an hour after sunrise some light and color began. There were a few hot air balloons rising from the west mesa, south of us.
By shooting a few portrait orientation shots I was able to combine some that included a few balloons for a later pano.
Nothing very spectacular but it was nice being up there, drinking coffee, listening to the sounds of the neighborhood awakening.

The greatest thing about dreams is they don’t expire. They can lay dormant for years and when you pull them out and dust them off, they shine like new.

Resident waders about 15-18 cm long and found across South Asia and South East Asia near the edges of water bodies throughout the year. These are social birds and often found in a flock of 100 and more. They prefer the sand banks and mud near water bodies to rest and flock together. Sometimes we see them on the banks of lakes, but this time we spotted a large flock maybe a few hundred of them on a dried lake bed.
The lake had dried up partially resulting in a large number of waders (1000+) making it their winter home. The birds were foraging in the mud walking around. There were a few raptors like the Marsh Harrier, Black Kite and Brahminy Kite looking for some action, but we didn't see any action while we were there.
Thank you so much in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
