About a decade ago, I bought a local auction lot that included some HO gauge USA/Canadian rolling stock and locomotives. I intended to sell them on but instead I started to collect them as and when they came up locally. It's still a very small collection.
I have a small number of 'B' units, description here:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%E2%80%93unit#:~:text=A%20B%20unit....
The only UK example I could think of was the Class 13:

I'm guessing this is a Santa Fe loco, given I saw an identically coloured A-B-B-A loco set on YouTube pulling a long rake of Santa Fe box cars.
About four years ago. Dogwoods (Cornus florida) produce lots of flower buds in late fall, or they become obvious then. They wait until the time is right, and open up, exposing four large bracts, and a couple of dozen or so small flowers, if all goes well.
Thank you for looking! Isn't God a great artist?
I spend quite a large part of my life choosing, testing and repairing photographic equipment. It takes me much more time than creating pictures..
Once I unwittingly overheard a conversation of men drinking alcohol on the river bank.
They talked about fishing and choosing equipment for this.
One of them had a heavy box of various fishing gear. He showed them with pride, laid out and sorted out ... spinners, wobblers, fishing lines, hooks ...
And the other could boast of nothing but a shovel.
But I remember his words well:
".. there are men's magazines about women,
But sometimes it's just a woman.."
After that He dug up worms and went to fish..)
Nice weather and great photos this weekend for all of us
And let the pleasure of the process does not replace the result for us ! ) ) )

Macro Mondays -- Theme "Handmade"
When this theme was announced I knew I would use a Christmas ornament. Choosing which one was a problem though for I have waaaaaay too much Christmas stuff and a lot of it is handmade. I settled on this one made of two nuts glued together then painted and dressed.
The ornament is about 2.5" tall but the portion of it shown is only about 1.5".
I came across the following poem when looking up snowdrops and it sums up the last week or so pretty well:
"I wonder if the sap is stirring yet,
If wintry birds are dreaming of a mate,
If frozen snowdrops feel as yet the sun
And crocus fires are kindling one by one:
Sing robin, sing:
I still am sore in doubt concerning Spring."
Christina Rossetti – from ‘ The First Spring Day’ (1830-1894) – English Poet
These snowdrops emerged on a hillside several days ago, which meant I didn't have to get down in the mud to capture an eye level view of them. They've since experienced heavy frost, snow, and rain, which left me in doubt about spring too - at least until today, which was finally warm and sunny.
One source says the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains range is about 1,000 km (620 mi) in length. Its highest point is 7,090 m (23,260 ft) located 100 km (62 mi) to the northwest of Lhasa. The range is parallel to the Himalayas in the Transhimalayas, and north of the Brahmaputra River. [3] Another source says the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains extend 460 miles (740 km) from Nyêmo County in the west to Ranwu County (the southwestern part of Baxoi County) in the east.
Its highest peak is Mount Nyenchen Tanglha (Nyainqêntanglha Feng) at 7,162 metres (23,497 ft).[4]
The southern side of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains is precipitous, and falls by around 2,000 metres (6,600 ft), while the northern side is fairly level and descends about 1,000 metres (3,300 ft). Most of the mountains are below 6,500 metres (21,300 ft).[5] They contain 7080 glaciers covering an area of 10,700 square kilometres (4,100 sq mi).[4]
The Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains have an average latitude of 30°30'N and a longitude between 90°E and 97°E. Together with the Gangdise Shan located further west, it forms the Transhimalaya [a] which runs parallel to the Himalayas north of the Yarlung Tsangpo River.
The Drukla Chu river rises in the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, where it is called the Song Chu river, and joins the Gyamda Chu river. The combined rivers run about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast to the Yarlung Tsangpo river.
Pottering about in the delightful, small herbal patch of the Deacon's Garden next to the Hermitage, one of Amsterdam's fine museums, this Starflower reminded me of my youth. Hot bruises would be treated with thin slices of cool cucumber, and Borago smells and tastes like that wonderful vegetable. We would be warned to handle the growing fruits of cucumber in our vegetable garden carefully because their own bruising would turn them bitter-tasting. Whether our Grey-spotted Boxer Hoverfly needed bruise solace I don't know. The male - this is the female - has slightly thickened forelegs, hence its common name, elaborated from the Latin. And obviously it's here after Sweetness and not Pollen.

About 30 minutes prior to my last post from Kaw Point. Snowflake crop circles floating down the Missouri River. The wall in the water is actually where the Kansas and Missouri Rivers meet. A boundary/divide of two states in the chilly waters.
