Spring has sprung.
I could not resist springing ahead in my story to post this photo today. This is the same colt from last year's story I've been telling.

Jacobinia. too the Brazilian plume flower, or flamingo flower (Justicia carnea) is a flowering tropical plant in the family Acanthaceae.
The upright, evergreen perennial shrub, 90 to 210 cm tall and wide, is native to the Atlantic Forest ecoregions of eastern Brazil, Misiones Province of northeastern Argentina, and Paraguay.
The upward-facing plumes of tubular, slightly scented flower clusters are usually pink-purple, but red, yellow, orange, apricot or white are also possible. The flower clusters are 10 to 20 cm long.
Jacobinia, ook Braziliaanse pluimbloem (Justicia carnea), is een bloeiende tropische plant uit de familie Acanthaceae.
De rechtopgaande, groenblijvende, vaste plant, 90 tot 210 cm hoog en breed, is afkomstig uit de wouden van oost en zuid Brazilië, noordoost Argentinië en Paraguay.
De omhoog gerichte pluimen van buisvormige, licht geurende bloemtrossen zijn rozepaars, maar rood, geel, oranje, abrikoos of wit zijn ook mogelijk. De bloemtrossen zijn 10 à 20 cm lang.
Jacobina worden in de tropen veel in tuinen en parken gehouden. IHier is het een potplant, die alleen in de zomer naar buiten kan.
