Here we have a tour boat circling a bergy bit showing tourist a mini version of what the Titanic came up against. Near St. John's, NL. AND a note to those who made comments: as always you are much too kind but every comment is appreciated. And please note as well because of the distance and the angle of elevation the boat may seem closer than it actually was. But I'd caution all who get near these things to be very, very careful. I've another shot of this piece of ice with some other folks close by that I would like to post soon.

Back in October of 2009, Norfolk Southern ran their business train with A-B-B-A F-units over the former Delaware and Hudson north of Binghamton. I followed them from Howes Cave, New York all the way back home to Harrisburg, after spending the night at friend Ben Martin's house near Binghamton the night before. The office car special is seen running southward on former Lackawanna track near the Pennsylvania/New York border. I sure am gonna miss following these cab units around on NS specials, hopefully they find a good home(s) now that they're officially up for auction. Nothing lasts forever!

A huntsman spider, probably Heteropoda jugulans. Male and female huntsman spiders are similar in size with the males having longer legs and females slightly bigger bodies. Actually, I am not sure whether this is a male or female. Unlike many spiders, the males do not risk being eaten after mating. Some species of huntsman spiders live in colonies. Normally, huntsman spiders are nocturnal. However, this spider was out in the afternoon. It has eight eyes. The upper four appear closed. Perhaps it was squinting because of the bright light.

For the Macro Mondays theme "Inspired by a Song". The song I chose is "Boris the Spider" by the Who. Perhaps a slightly larger spider than the Who had in mind but definitely a little creepy. The spider was on a variegated bromeliad leaf in my garden and was left undisturbed after being photographed. Huntsman spiders can also be found indoors.

Macrophotography has made me appreciate what a diverse and fascinating group of animals that spiders are.

You can see the descendant light trail left by an airplane in this 138 seconds exposure picture.

I opted by closing the aperture of the lens to f/18 in order to get some starbursts in the lights.

Espécie símbolo do Pantanal, ele chega a ter 1,40m de comprimento 1,60m de altura, e pesar 8 kg. Pode chegar a quase 3m de envergadura. A grandiosidade desta ave também se expressa pelas construções de seus ninhos. Alguns deles já foram encontrados medindo 3m de diâmetro, sendo construído, algumas vezes, a mais de 25m do chão, nas árvores mais altas do Pantanal.

Norfolk Southern's A-B-B-A F units split the old elevators at Ridge Spring returning to Altoona, Pennsylvania from the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. A long delay for the daily westward freight made for rough lighting conditions, but it wasn't too bad at this location along the former Southern Railway R Line to Columbia, SC. Sadly, this might be the only time I ever chase the NS covered wagons on this part of the system. They're sitting out the next OCS from Atlanta to Harrisburg, which is currently deadheading south with the Southern heritage leading a newer SD70ACe.

d) Impostazione nel corpo camera ISO/ASA 6400, DR (100%), Modalità AF (Area), WB Bilanciamento del Bianco (Auto), Simulazione Film (Provia Standard), Colore (+2), Nitidezza (0), Tono Alte luci (0), Tono Ombre (0), Riduzione disturbo (+1), Gamma Dinamica (Auto), Qualità Immagine (Fine), Filtro ND (On), Dimensione Immagine (3:2 - L);

e) Tecnica di ripresa esposimetrica con il sistema dell”Esposizione a Destra;

f) Prima Post-Produzione (leggerissima file quasi perfetto) per la correzione del bilanciamento cromatico/tonale (dopo la desaturazione) delle varie aree e zone di colore per compensare l’intensità di luce (ore 12,30 di ripresa) con Nikon Capture NX 2;

g) Seconda Post-Produzione con Adobe Photoshop CC per il bilanciamento delle zone d’ombra (Lievissima file quasi perfetto);

h) Post-Produzione di completamento con Nikon Capture NX 2 e CorelPhoto-Paint X5 per il completamento e la sistemazione finale del "Sistema Zonale".

Quindi le letture effettuate sono state circa 6 segnandomi le varie risultanti ottenute ovvero accoppiata tempo/diaframma parziali per poi ricavare la risultante finale. In pratica simulare una lettura tipo "Sistema Zonale di Ansel Adams";

f) Prima Leggera Post-Produzione effettuata con Nikon Capture NX 2 (effettuando mascherature localizzate, riduzione di luminanza delle zone “zona VI e VIII” e aumentando la struttura della zone “zona 0 - II-III e IV”)

g) Seconda Post-Produzione Leggerissima effettuata con Corel Photo-Paint X7 64Bit e Adobe Photoshop CS6 64Bit per il miglioramento globale dell’immagine riducendo il divario zonale delle aree (ovvero effettuando una compressione delle zone);

h) Ultima leggera Post-Produzione di completamento con Nikon Capture NX 2;

Luna creciente de julio al 67%, el campo está bien iluminado como para montar cómodamente el equipo sin necesidad de linternas ni frontales, la Vía Láctea no es tan visible como en luna nueva, por eso en este caso usé una montura ecuatorial, en la cual monté un sistema de doble rótula para poder girar en horizontal una segunda rótula con orientación picada hacia el cielo, pues el arco se hallaba ya bastante alto, sin este método es imposible efectuar panorámicas sobre una montura ecuatorial, pues su base nunca está horizontal sino muy inclinada, en un plano paralelo al eje de ascensión recta o lo que es lo mismo, al eje de rotación terrestre..

Esta panorámica fue descartada en su día... debido al confinamiento, hoy ve la luz. Nos encontramos en la Sierra de Gata, Extremadura.
