Today was a beautiful day so we did our first jobs this year in our allotment garden. This is part of the front garden, a part we had neglected until last year.

We took the 9:30 boat, the "Balmy Days II" from Boothbay Harbor and arrived at the Monhegan Island Dock at 11:00. This album tells the story, in 150 images, of the three and one-half hours that we spent seeing as much of the island as we could. We took the trails out to Burnt Head and Lobster Point, had our sandwiches in a shady spot near the village church, then climbed the hill to the lighthouse and the superb museums where we enjoyed the views and the cool ocean breezes until we had to board at 2:30 for our return to the mainland. We did not have time for the Cathedral Woods and the rest of the northern half of the island - we hope for a future trip, preferably with an overnight stay at one of the two inns.

I ended up dropping almost all the way back to the 4 hour pace holders, at least I could hear them yelling words of encouragement behind me, but I damned well wasn't going to be overtaken by them, so I ended up upping my pace again for the last few km.
Como mejor lanzador derecho del año fue seleccionado el avileño Vladimir García, tras cerrada porfía con el espirituano Ismel Jiménez -líder en victorias en el campeonato con 17-. Sin embargo el palmarés del avileño, a la postre campeón nacional, fue clave para el desempeño de su equipo: 14 triunfos, con un promedio de efectividad 1.71, el mejor de todos, y el average ofensivo que permitió a sus oponentes compilar solo para .201, además de completar 11 de sus 22 aperturas en la etapa regular, en la que encadenó 10 éxitos al hilo. Fue seleccionado además el MVP de la postemporada.
