Generic Man (the superhero we deserve) is here for scale. I was going for the most simple, generic minilander possible, and I think it came close.

I like the picture on the front of the Unikitty shirt better with the extra bright pink, but I don't know if I can make it sturdy and give her passable shoulders. This version involves a clip plate, a bar, and two 1x1 rounds in white - the back looks terrible, and the neck is too far back...

Industrial bin after loading with building rubble hanging at chains seen against deep blue clear sky

On my way home from work I saw this container hanging at a construction crane in the air. I already wanted to leave the construction area behind me. Then I turned round and went back, thought this might be a nice shot ;-).

One of the twins getting a little exercise running about. In general, this is the view I get of the babies. On this occasion, they were doing laps in the front yard. This one came out of the grass and almost ran into me!!!! A split second later and back into the grass! I will say we've been enjoying the "new" front yard.

Have a great weekend!! :-)

Please enjoy an image of the dazzling skyline of Sydney captured from my walk across the Harbour Bridge. It would appear that I cannot shake the fog in many of the cities I photograph as of recent years (i.e. Seattle, LA, etc). Nevertheless, even with the blanket of mist lurking overhead, Sydney was alive and bursting with activity below.

In the foreground is The Rocks, the historical settlement that would eventually expand into our city of Sydney. In the center left is Circular Quay, from which you can take ferries to Manly Beach, Taronga Zoo, Darling Harbour, or to any number of destinations. I would opine that it would take extremely creative efforts to avoid Circular Quay for any mode of transportation in Sydney. It is the central hub and battery that keeps the city connected.

A very special thanks to Richard (a.k.a. EXOGRAMS) and his wife for meeting me on that very humid evening along the shores of Sydney Harbour, after which several hours of night photography and entertaining stories were shared. (Congrats again on the monumental achievement of earning your doctorate degree, my friend)!

Have a terrific weekend (and a Happy 4th of July for my fellow contacts in the States)!

Constructed in 1928 as a first-class hotel and entertainment center, the Leland building is twenty-two stories high. When built, it was the tallest building in Illinois outside of Chicago. It was designed by Anker Sveere Graven and Arthur Guy Mayger of Chicago. The architects called their building “a modern adaptation of the Italian Romanesque style”. It is now being used as an apartment building. As a hotel the Aurora-Leland had all the modern amenities of the times—including telephones in every room. Topping this sky scraper was the Sky Club, a dinner and dancing club outfitted with elaborate decor and furnishings of the highest quality. The views from the Sky Club as well as its elegance made it a place to see and be seen by the local socialites. "Swanks" from Chicago thought the Sky Club a fun place to take their dates. Philip K. Wrigley, fan dancer Sally Rand, and the singing cowboy Gene Autry are some of the famous names seen there. Recordings were made there by such famous blues musicians as John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson. The tower is also known, however, for being a popular spot for committing suicide. Many have taken their own life by jumping off the 22 story tower into the river below. Because of this, many consider the building to be haunted. Those who live inside the now apartment complex claim that they often hear moans in the elevator and smell foul odors throughout the building.

Kinvara is situated in South County Galway, Ireland, just on the edge of the world renowned "Burren" on Galway Bay. Often described in tourist guides and other publications as a "Picturesque Seaside Village", this is a description that not many will argue with. I'm sure you will agree!

Great History .. with no Future

Summer vacation in Gaspésie

Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé is a municipality in the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region of the province of Quebec in Canada. It is the smallest municipality, in land area and population, of the Le Rocher-Percé Regional County Municipality.

Fishing is its primary business, and its harbour handles the fourth highest value of seafood in Quebec. Its factories, employing hundreds of people, process snow crab, rock crab, and lobster. In addition to the village of Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé itself, the municipality also includes the community of Saint-Isidore.

The Manhattan Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the East River in New York City, connecting Lower Manhattan (at Canal Street) with Brooklyn (at Flatbush Avenue Extension). It was the last of the three suspension bridges built across the lower East River, following the Brooklyn and the Williamsburg bridges. The bridge was opened to traffic on December 31, 1909 and was designed by Leon Moisseiff, who later designed the infamous original Tacoma Narrows Bridge that opened and collapsed in 1940. It has four vehicle lanes on the upper level (split between two roadways). The lower level has three lanes, four subway tracks, a walkway and a bikeway. The upper level, originally used for streetcars, has two lanes in each direction, and the lower level is one-way and has three lanes in peak direction. It once carried New York State Route 27 and later was planned to carry Interstate 478. No tolls are charged for motor vehicles to use the Manhattan Bridge.

Last tuesday I went out for a bicycling trip, and around 21:30 pm, near Haastrecht, I doubted whether to go back to Schoonhoven, or make a quick detour to Gouda. I opted for the last. I forgot about the time, shooting on several places in Gouda (see this and this photo) and around 23:15 pm I started the 55 min. return trip to Schoonhoven.

Halfway on my way back I came past this location, the Boezemmolen no. 6 in Haastrecht, where I have photographed many times before. But, despite the late hour, I could not resist to stop and take some photos. I took only 6 photos, as I really wanted to go home. Of those 6, this one was the best. Never been there before at night, but will definitely come back someday!

Returning from Galway me and my cousin SJ seen this amazing sunset and raced my motor home as fast as we could go. Running out of location options we finally reached this amazing little spot just in the nick of time. I just managed to capture the sun right on the horizon just seconds before it vanished for another day...

Welcome to the magical world of LegOz!

[Built with Lego, we tried to capture the beauty of this classic movie with a mosaic and forced perspective]

We actually built this early on, and had hoped to save it for the final week of

Iron Builder against Tyler (Legohaulic) and Michaela (Littlehaulic) - but they have forced our hand to post it early ;) The seed part is the yellow rounded 1x2 slope, and is used in the yellow brick road, the sun, and the hot air balloon.
