This image was taken about 20 minutes after an earlier post, titled “Setting into the Mist”. Therefore, it seemed fitting to post this version as a part 2.

The mist had now completely engulfed the valley between my camera and Mt. Rainier. About 30 minutes after this image was captured you could have stood at this exact spot, and you would have seen absolutely nothing but mist.

Firstly, a very happy new years to everybody!!

Its great to be back on Flickr after a long break. I had a very eventful and exciting road trip across some of the most untouched parts of India. It was a great experience to say the least but our car broke down a couple of times and we wasted a lot of time trying to get the vehicle repaired. But on the whole, it was a fascinating journey and I will be sharing some of the picture with you in the coming days.

We ended our trip in Goa, which is arguably the party capital of India. We spent our new years eve with a bunch of friends in Goa before heading back home. The image you see if from the new years eve, the last sunset of the year 2011.

This is when we bid goodbyes to the year 2011 only to welcome the new year, which brings a lot of surprising and exciting times ahead of us.

Hope all of you have a wonderful year ahead, filled with joy and excitement. I will catchup with your streams today.

Thanks to all of you for your comments, favorites, invites and inspiration in 2011.

Wishing everyone all the best in 2012.

* Happy New Year * Frohes Neues Jahr * Bonne année * Feliz Año Nuevo *

Please enjoy another view of Mount Rainier, the tallest mountain in Washington State. From this vantage, the dormant volcano is actually 90 miles (145 kilometers) away!

Wishing you all a very peaceful and enjoyable remainder of 2011!

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a panoramic road in Austria. The most famous route through the Alps ends just before the jewel in the Hohe Tauern national park's crown: the highest mountain and the largest glacier in Austria, the Großglockner 3,798 m and its glacier, the Pasterze. You will have a driving and nature experience of a special kind on 48 kilometres of high alpine road with 36 bends, and an altitude ascent to 2,504 metres! You pass through a unique world of mountains with blossoming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, massive cliffs and eternal ice to the foot of the Grossglockner, the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe.

The Grossglockner high Alpine road in Austria is 48 kilometers of pure driving pleasure. The route is described in the brochure as a Bikers Heaven. The Großglockner Hochalpenstraße Road was built between 1930 and 1935, to fight unemployment and boost tourism in Salzburg. It is in within the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern. Closed in winter until end of October to beginning of May. Photo taken from the car park of the Edelweisspitze. A beautiful panoramic view on the Fuscher Törl, a 2428 meters high mountain pass.

This was the sunrise over Seattle this morning, my friends. It was one of the most phenomenal sunrises I had seen in months. You can see Mount Rainier, Washington State’s tallest mountain (and dormant volcano) that dominates the horizon on unbelievably clear days such as this one.

An impromptu decision to curtail my morning workout at the gym gave way to serendipity, which led me to capture this image today. If I had followed my regular routine this morning, I would have completely missed this.

This image was taken from the balcony of my apartment. Enjoy!

I love our northern light, with its softness of tone and colour. Near objects, like the stones above, appear sharp and detailed whilst those only slightly distant are hazily soft and recede in paleness.

*Crummock Water is two and a half miles long, three quarters of a mile wide and 140ft deep. The River Cocker is considered to start at the north of the lake, before then heading into Lorton Vale. The hill of Mellbreak runs the full length of the lake on its western side; as Alfred Wainwright described it 'no pairing of hill and lake in Lakeland have a closer partnership than these'.

Here is another shot from our trip to the backwaters in Kerala. this is what people living in these areas see on a daily basis. The beautiful Sunset across the array of coconut tress makes for an enchanting scene and for me, a first time visitor to this part of the world, it was nothing less than magical.

On the technical front, I'm not completely happy with this image. The light was too harsh and was difficult to handle the exposure. This is the best I could achieve after processing it but some good GND filters would have made my life easier and I'm planning to invest in them something soon.

Have a wonderful day ahead, my friends.

La Torre de Celas is what remains of a medieval fortress built in the 14th century; it was destroyed by the "Irmandiños" and rebuilt in the 15th century.

At present there is only the tower left, twelve metres high; restaured in 1992, it is the Ethnographic Museum of Culleredo.

A kaleidoscope is a circle of mirrors containing loose, colored objects such as beads or pebbles and bits of glass. As the viewer looks into one end, light entering the other end creates a colorful pattern, due to the reflection off the mirrors.

This is a processed photograph where a single photo is twirled at Photoshop and then mirrored twice to give a kaleidoscope effect. Thanks Evan for the tutorial!

Just found out that I have another Thanksgiving dinner to attend at my brother-in-laws. I thought today would be a fun, lazy Flickr catch-up day! So ... I will attend to that this evening! And attend to more chowing today {just what I needed}!

oooooooh its heavily raining here. i went out with raincoat to take a flower shot, since there were drops on it, i got an idea to make this as flower-drop shot.

you all know that i used to hold the thing with drops in my left hand and camera in right, but this time though i was holding only my non-SLR camera in hand, i faced difficult in making the shot, as wind was blowing along with the drizzling rain.

i managed to take this shot and returned back with this droplet shot and droplets on my camera
