One more from the "epic" chase of Norfolk Southern's OAR training train for First Responders...on its way to Edwardsville (Citation), IL from Mount Vernon.

When I rolled up, WR was already set up on the north side of the tracks, which was favored slightly by the sun. Instead, I went to the dark side to replicate a shot I've made more than a few times before. I'm not unhappy with the results, and the short train meant the signals and station sign to the far right were in sun. I even got a guy in a red quad-wheeler for good measure.

Southern Pacific 975 is a 2-10-2 type of steam locomotive, built in 1918 by American Locomotive Company at the former Brooks Locomotive Works plant in Dunkirk, New York. It entered service on Southern Pacific subsidiary Texas and New Orleans Railroad in March 1918, where it worked until its retirement in 1957. It now resides at the Illinois Railway Museum where I took this photo on October 1, 2022.
