Less than 30 minutes from its final station stop, VIA 910 hums along with Toronto to Windsor train 71 at mile 71.2 on VIA's Chatham Sub.

Locomotive History
910 is one of fifty five Class 901 locomotives and was built at Gateshead Works, entering traffic in 1875. It was withdrawn by the London and North Eastern Railway in 1925 and has been in preservation for almost one hundred years, predominately at York and latterly at Shildon.

Preserved Routemasters RM835 and 910 took part in an afternoon deregulation tour of the North Eastern part of Glasgow covering routes that saw Clydeside Scottish compete with Strathlcyde Buses.
The tour is seen at a stop on Northgate Road in Balornock before heading round to the main Balornock East terminus.

VIA 910 arriving at Brantford with Toronto - Windsor train 73.
910 has recently had the VIA 40th anniversary decals applied
4403, 711 and 2412 dig out of a sag as they power 910 at Garnet on 10-12-84. The Garnet siding was only about 10 cars long and was seldom used for anything except the occasional bad order or loading the odd couple of box cars with chips the last few years. It was removed not long after this photo.

910 adorns the Brantford name on its flank.
Before too long I heard the L572 crew hop on and start their tour. First move of the day was to wye the 910 so it would be facing the right way for the eastbound trip. The wye's tail track is now a stub but formerly would have led to the mothballed Missouri River swing bridge and Nebraska beyond.
The 914 was the result of a cooperation between Volkswagen and Porsche. The 914 sports car is said to be in-house designed by Heinrich Klie at Porsche.
There were four different engines available. This 1.7 was the smallest.
Note the shiny bumper: it's a real mirror.
