Makes me feel like we live in the kingdom of Daventry, at least for a day. Preserving some favorite spots in Austin, 8-bit style. Created via Google Map's Quest feature (presumably this is a "limited time" option, given the date...)

If this painting cost $1,350 dollars less than it actually did, I would have bought it.

My mind went to weird places while I was on vacation last week. Case in point: This doodle, of the strange Legend of Zelda character, Tingle, dressed up as one of the protagonists from that classic Nintendo game, Ice Climber.

After: The tie after I washed it with Soak Wash: www.soakwash.com/ It's a no-rinse gentle detergent for handwashing. (Except "handwashing" is a misnomer - you don't put it in the machine, sure, but you don't do much more than put the item in a sink of water, splash some Soak in, and let it sit.) I'm always amazed at how many stains and spots it gets out and this time I finally remembered to take before and after photos.

So - don't let the expense put you off. A little bit goes a long way to freshen up wool, lingerie, and even microfiber neckties from Thinkgeek! :)
