"邯鄲枕"

"眼を背けて見ないことで僕は心の平穏をたもつことに決めた"

Processed with VSCOcam with x1 preset

Today I was in one of my favourite places: the "Bosco di Montenero". Tonight snow gave it a fairytale aspect ... do you agree?

I used ONLY my new cheap chinese 35mm 1,7 lens, almost always at full aperture.

This is the result: something like a Lensbaby or a Holga lens. What do you think? Did I spent well 36$ (adapter included)? I looove this rendition.

"Elmo" is a street kid. Not her real name, obviously, it was given to her because she is ticklish. She told me all the kids have street names. She came wandering over to our BBQ looking for food. She saw my camera and started asking me questions, saying she loves photography. I asked her if she wanted to be my #7 Stranger and she immediately struck this pose. I then asked her if I could interview her. She launched into her life story. She said she is 19 now and ran away from an abusive, neglectful home life. Her mother was a "train hopping druggie" and her father was a counterfeit moneymaker. She doesn't do drugs at all, she said. But she did ask someone for a beer. I asked her if she wants to get an education and she said yes, she wants to be a social worker. I hope she gets a break and gets off the streets. She said everything she owns is in a backpack and that does not include a toothbrush. She had to get an abcessed tooth pulled at a free clinic the other day. Thank goodness for programs that help the poor and homeless. Since these kids hang out in this park, I may go to the dollar store and buy them all toothbrushes and toothpaste. I feel so bad for them.

On Thursday 7, the blockades from the previous day continued, with hundreds of protesters sleeping on the different roads leading to Heiligendamm. But the main action took place in Hinter Bollhagen, one of the 2 entrances to the "red zone" : thousands of people gathered on the fields in front of the fence, while police deployed their full arsenal (troops dropped by helicopters, horses, dogs, and no less than 8 water canons). A couple of isolated people managed to run to the fence and where immediately seized. The mood was however quite relaxed, with very little violence ( a few stones and bottles thrown at some point). The police eventually cleared the field with water canons, and (once and briefly) some tear gas. At the end of the day, small barricades were built on the roads but quickly cleared by the police.

Here, policemen are clearing a small barricade (a special truck was used for bigger ones).
